Creamy. If I wanted to chew a handful of peanuts I'd just eat those instead.

Reminds me of a hilarious Jim Gaffigan bit about peanut butter coming in creamy, chunky, extra chunky, and extreme chunky, and how when he opened the extreme chunky it was just peanuts!

Depends on the application. In a PB&J sandwich or on toast, I prefer creamy. On an apple, I can go both ways. In my peanut butter cookies, it's chunky chunky chunky.

Creamy

I won't even let my kids buy chunky PB at the store, for fear they fall that devil food.

This question tilts me because it makes my skin crawl to see so many people miss such an easy question (creamy, obv).

Chunky.

On a side note, my wife has developed a peanut allergy and cannot have peanuts for at least a year.

It honestly varies each time I buy it. Sometimes I want chunky, sometimes creamy, and yet I'll never keep both at the same time.

The better question, by the way, is natural or processed?

Chunky is a violation of the consistency rule; therefore, I prefer creamy.

I'm all for processed too, it surely does work well. But if anyone has never tried natural, give it a shot. I tends to be a bit grittier (I guess that's the best word for it) and has more of a true peanut taste.

Someone recently told me that natural peanut butter has a much larger chance of containing botulism than the processed kind, but I've been too lazy to look into it.

Although, I can't remember if it was botulism or some other chemical/bacteria that is in unprocessed peanut butter that is supposed to be bad for you.
