I'm gunna get it for free from a friend, then trade it in @ gamestop because EA is teh suck.

j/k...actually I do get all of my EA games for free. As long as it's not a fumble/interception fest like last year I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Not going to buy it. One of my favorite Maddens was 2004, and that's probably because it was the first one I played since 2001, and that one was the first I played since '96 or '97. Every year since 2004, I've bought Madden and each year I'm more and more disappointed with it. I think part of that is because each version just feels like the previous one.

So, I'm going to give it at least another year to work out the "next-gen" kinks, unless the reviews are glowing. I'm hoping that next year's version will be enough of a leap from '08 that it will satisfy me, but right now I'd say the 2011 version will be a more realistic "next version I'll probably buy". (The same goes for NCAA).

I didn't buy NCAA this year and really itching to play some 09 football (traded in both 08 games) so I'll get Madden the day it comes out...

In between option 1 and 2. I'll wait at least a few days to see what flaws arise. If they aren't gamekillers to me, I'll buy it that Friday.

Basically what Eaglesfan27 said, I'll give it a few days and see what others think. I do like pro football more than college football but Madden is going to have to be really good for me to buy two football games this year.

Sadly, the thing that is making me think about a 1st day purchase is Head Coach early.

I really wanted to purchase the CE just to play Head Coach early, but I'm waiting to hear about both of these games from reviewers and gamers before I decide to purchase or not.

I have preordered the CE just to play Head Coach early. As i'll play franchise in Head Coach, will use madden basically for the Superstar mode that i enjoy a lot (in NCAA i'm playing Campus legend 90% of the time).

voted number two but will wait more than two weeks for reviews to come in. I'll be reading thoughts here and on the regular operation sports boards before making a decision.

I hope the game is good as I do want to play some football this fall. But if it's no better than last years effort I certainly won't be wasting my money.

I will intend to not buy it, then pre-order it once I read all of ya'll positive first impressions, and have my copy arrive just as ya'll are starting to trash it because of all of its faults.

Damn, the eventual letdown here in America is disappointing enough but that's impressively worse.
