ESPN NFL Football --- interesting news

Now with NCAA and Madden, I wasn't even planning on giving Sega's version a second look this year, but last night I couldn't sleep and was watching the usually lame G4 channel when they said that Sega's game will have a first person mode. They showed some screen shots and you can play QB and the screen looks as if you are looking through the QBs helmet. It was kind of cool to see the QB's perspective as he dropped back and the pocket formed around him and the receiver ran down field.

I've always wondered when someone would do this, and it might be taking a look at some reviews when this comes out. Anyone else hear about this?

This feature is called "The Madden Killer," or something like that. I will take a look at this game, but I am guessing Madden will be my NFL gaming choice. Only time will tell though.

Yeah, the only thing about it is, once you start a game with it, you have to finish the game with it. Plus I found the previous versions of SEGA's game, way too arcady.

I agree, it is way to arcady. Which is kind of odd, cause Sega's Basketball game is much more realistic than EA's Basketball game.

Oh. I had thought that the first person mode was going to be in Madden. I need to pay better attention sometimes...

If Sega's game is too 'arcady,' what do you call Madden, where you can routinely complete fourth down passes and more or less score at will?

I have one of those nifty Microsoft E-Port-a-Potties so I can post even when I'm crapping.

I don't know how I survived before I got it...

Oh, and yes, self wiping toilet are all the rage down here in Texas. You have to try one some time.

Of course, I know that you really enjoy your bidet. But you have to move into the 21st century sometime, dude...

You gotta come down here and try Taco Bueno. It's much better than Bell. And then there's Taco Cabana. Not only is it fast mexican food, but you can get beer and/or maragaritas there! Talk about the best of two worlds!!!

Oh yeah. ESPN football r0x0rs...

I will beat all of you in Madden 2003 using the Patriots, who aren't a very high rated team.

Madden is hellava lot more realistic than SEGA's football games. In no other football game have I ever broken 6 tackles in one run. Or had a smaller running back, 5'10 200 lbs. run over Ted Washington, not once, not twice, but three times in one game.

I check to see if anyone else heard this and I leave with an odd craving for Taco Bell.

That's why I like this board.
