Prayers and Good Thoughts Needed

Hey All

My father (age 72) goes into surgery early tomorrow to remove a benign brain tumor. Everything looks relatively "good" as far as the prognosis and all, but there is obviously a danger in doing this sort of surgery at any time, much less for someone his age.

His mood is good, and he has a strong faith to comfort him, but it still scares the crap out of me. He was adamant that I shouldn't fly out there, and having to say goodbye to him on the phone last night was one of the harder things I've done.

In any case, I'd appreciate the support of the FOFC community in thinking of him for me.

Chris

Good luck to you and your dad. My sister, who's much younger than your father, went through the same thing about 4 years ago now. She's perfectly fine now, but it was very scary.

All the best.

My father had a calcium tumor removed several years ago. He came out of the surgery fine, but for several days his personality was much more cheerful than normal. Gradually he returned to the guy I knew, but I guess some personality change isn't terribly uncommon after that kind of surgery.

Good luck and God Bless.

Very happy to report that the surgery went off without a hitch yesterday, and my dad is heading home tonight (early). I haven't had a chance to talk with him yet, but word is that he is in great spirits. Great news!

My sincere, heartfelt thanks for all of your support. God bless.
