E-Trade (who to use for purchasing shares)
Carrying on from my newbie request about who to use for share purchasing - I bank with Wamu - but the share person there actually recommended E-Trade to buy through, anyone here got experience using them? (they look fairly good on paper to me) ... or a suggested alternative.

I was wondering the same thing. I have heard bad things about online trading, but have no personal experience with it.

Scottrade has been fine for me. $7/trade flat.

I've used both E*Trade and Ameritrade, preferring Ameritrade, YMMV.
E*Trade has a pretty sweet deal on personal savings accounts - something like 5% APR - so it my be a better option |

I use E-Trade specifically because of the personal savings account option. I just started with them recently, so I don't have anything huge to say really. But they were super responsive sending me the Visa for my trading account and the checks. That stuff came super fast and even with setting up my account, they wasted little time getting it together.

I've used Etrade in the past, their customer service was outstanding. I briefly tried Scottrade and was disappointed.
