If you had the top overall pick, would you take....? (Herman Moore)

Last one for today, then I move into some more tomorrow. This one I think is more compelling.

Again, you have to pick, and you have the top overall pick. You know that this particular player will have the career he doe,s the others are just normal rookies. We did QB and RB, time for another position, but I upped the skill level a bit to see if you are tempted. Here we go:

Would you take Herman Moore as a rookie, knowing what he'd do?

Would you take the random top overall rookie?

This one is a tougher choice.

While I would normally say WR is not worthy of a 1-1 pick, since a WR does not directly change a franchise without an adequate O-Line & QB...the difference is that I KNOW Herman Moore will be a top-tier WR for 6-7 seasons. That guarantee is the only reason I say yes. I then try to improve the other positions through the rest of the draft & FA.

I would roll the dice and take Brett Favre instead.

You are a moron. What part of you this exercise don't you understand?

Moore is a bit closer than the others, but I'm still going to say no. 3 years of excellent production and 3-4 other average years at the WR position doesn't equal what I'm looking for at the number 1 pick, especially given the salary I am going to have to pay him. Keep going

I'd say take him. Plus I like him in All-Pro Football, that size is a great asset.

I would like to get some more votes on Herman Moore, since he seems closer in numbers.

This is a tough one, but in the end I'm just not sure if any WR is worth the #1 overall pick let alone one who is just "very good".

This is a very tough choice. I am going to take my chances on the #1 pick however because I am smarter than most NFL Gms and would be able to draft better

I don't know, WRs are such a crapshoot. I'm looking over the top 50 WRs in the NFL (yardage/recpts) and over half of them aren't 1st rounders. So while I wouldn't be unhappy with Herman Moore (7 straight seasons at 900+ yds) I think I might be just as likely to have a productive WR in the later rounds.

I always thought Moore was a pretty good player, but I don't know if I would consider him dominant enough to not take a #1 overall pick, even with the risk of busting, especially since my team has needs everywhere. I would take 1.1 instead.

Draft him, sign him to a 6 year deal and then deal him for picks after his 123 for 1686 season.

I don't think that's allowed. Although these rules are pretty complex.

Why would anyone want to trade picks for a guy that just hit .073?

Herman Moore is Spike Owen, isn't he?
