Lil' Bush

Has anyone seen this? Did I miss a thread somewhere?
This show is great! Extremely funny.

Here is the site:

This show can be watched multiple times and it is still funny as all get out.

Two thumbs up!

I agree, saw this for the first time on Wednesday. I loved the fact that Dick Cheney's father was Darth Vader.

I've heard this phrase before but I really don't get it at all.

Show me some "all get out" so I can see if it's funny.

I think that's a midwestern saying. I had a high school buddy from Indiana who used to say it all the time, but I've only heard it here and there since then.

I've never ever heard that phrase before, or seen it written anywhere on the internets.

"all get out" is kind of a catch phrase I think used multiple ways.

"He hits the ball farther than all get out."

"That darn tractor was louder than all get out."

Something like that. All get out sounds like a pretty exciting thing. Do not taunt all get out.

"Funny as all get out" is the phrase I remember from my Missouri family. And it looks like tarcone is from Missouri.

So it's like a multi-purpose catch phrase in a sentence? Are there rules on how it can be used?

Like, can I say "I'm as tired as all get out!" Or something like "I'm so tired, let me tell you all get out!"

edit: oh, looks like it's just "funny as all get out." I'm asking this in all seriousness.

I've heard it used in multiple contexts. The funny one is probably the most common but there seem to be multiple applications.

It is really the same as any other slang used to emphasize a large amout. Tired as hell...crazy as shit...stuff like that. If anything, I thought it was more of a southern thing. Of course living in Wisconsin means just about everything is south of me.

It is the same. It just sounds strange because "all get out" is such an abstract term.

Sorry I 'jacked your lil bush. This was an important issue.

I had a NJ friend from college who always said, "for days" instead of "a long time".

Sometimes it wouldn't even fit, but he still snuck it in there.

Impressive threadjack. I saw the first episode of lil bush and I, too, thought it was funny as all get out. I missed this week's, the DVR is set to record one of the repeats though.

This show is actually good? The commercials turned me off of it and I haven't really seen it.

So if "all get out" is a phrase that can be used for just about anything that someone from middle America uses in place of actually coming up with a description, what exactly does "golly-bum" mean? I heard a kid from Nebraska use it once and thought I was in an episode of Andy Griffith! I assumed it meant the same as a West Virginia "I'll tell you what," (a phrase that is there simply to say something that adds nothing to the phrase.)

I like it when people say, "Look", or "Listen", right before saying something of substance. Such as, "Look, I'm only here for the Cheez Whiz, guys." Or, "Listen, why do all my socks smell like lasagna?"
