Cellphone Plan Question - Sprint

Quick question cuz I don't feel like waiting in the 10 person line at the Sprint store in my building and am wondering if anyone knows the answer.

I am currently not under contract with them (my old contract ran out and I never chose to renew it). However I do have an active line of service (my phone number). Am I going to be eligible for the "sweet-deal" price on a phone, or am I going to have to pay the full retail price?

Cuz if I hafta pay full-retail I'll just go through customer-retention and threaten to go get an IPhone.

You should be eligible for a new phone discount/freebie if you sign a new 2 year contract.

Yeah, transferring a phone number shouldn't matter - it's all about signing a new contract as a new customer.

Every time I've gotten a new phone from Sprint it's been after my previous contract expired, so I've always been able to get the "sweet deal" discount by signing a new contract.

However, I'm done with Sprint and will be switching services once my current contract ends in about a year.

Also, you might want to look into this.

thanks HERD.

Yeah SERO is nice. It'd save me a little chunk of change. I'm not sure how much of a stink I'll have to raise to get myself into a HTC Mogul, but we'll see either tomorrow or sunday.

sero would save me prolly like...150 bucks a year. That'd be nice. Not essential, but nice.

It saves me 30 a month on the phone plan, and 15 on the unlimited data, so thats $500+
