Talking NBA Finals start tonight

I'm pumped about this series. Should be 6-7 outstanding hoop games. That having be said, Spurs in 6.

I'll say Spurs in 5-6.

Although I do actually believe the Nets have a chance this year, unlike last year. We'll see though, it all depends on how well SA plays, if they play to their potential, no way the Nets will compete. I also think it's highly unlikely that they will play that way though.

Are we guessing on how many months the finals will last, or the number of games it will go. Either way, I'm betting 9.

Haven't these things already been played? How many months do these playoffs last anymore?

I actually forgot all about the Finals; was it really necessary to have a week and a half in between the conference finals and NBA finals?

Oh, and Spurs in six, also.

I have no idea why they waited so long before starting the finals, I'm sure it's all TV related.

Just a really bad move.

Oh, and Spurs in six, also.

David Stern had an interview on Rome's ESPN show last night and said the reason for the start date of June 4th was because Television networks here and all other the globe wanted a set starting date. This would make it easier on the production of the broadcasts in other countries so they could get everyone and everything here on time.

Oh, and Spurs in 6.

I guess I'm rooting for the Spurs, but I don't really like either of the teams...

Come on Nets fans, let's hear from you!

::echo::

Um, ok. Well here's hoping the Nets take it in 7.

There can't be a thread on the NBA without someone bashing it can there?

The thread was named "NBA Finals Start Tonight.." did you expect to find talk about fantasy football?

Don't like it, then don't read it. I don't need to hear the constant bashing of the sport which I've loved since I was little.

There are flaws in the league, I know that. But I love the game of basketball and in my opinion there is no better form of basketball than in the NBA (I like College ball, but always like the pro game a bit better.)

Baseball bores the hell out of me. I couldn't name you half the Bears roster on opening day because every offseason the player turnover is insane. But I won't bitch about it, because everyone has the right to their own opinion.

I apologize for liking NBA basketball.

Well, my prediction for the Mavs-Spurs series was very close to true. I picked the Spurs to win 4-2 and predicted even how they would win/lose their games. Before the finals even began I was thinking Spurs in 7. I was originally thinking that the Mavs would have been a better matchup for the Nets, and I still think that, but I have been a little impressed with the Nets play in the playoffs while the Mavs series showed some chinks in the armor of the Spurs. The Nets certainly won't be a cakewalk for the Spurs, and the Nets will turn some heads, but I'm not ready to pick against the Spurs. Well, that's my two cents.

Am I the only one who really enjoyed seeing Tony Parker show up Kidd last night?

I'm not sure why I have such a deep hatred of Kidd/Nets, but I do.

Not a pretty 2nd half for the Nets at all, seems to me like they got beat a lot worse than the score would indicate.

Neuqua- You're not alone. I love the NBA, always have..and probably always will. It does have issues with the way it's being run now, but I think it's still great, there's a number of great players coming up now, good stuff.

Well, maybe if we called them the New York Outcast Nets you would recognize them.
