I talked to Horns online once. He tried to pick me up. I almost fell for it. But I know chat lines when I see it

Chief is a big Ducks fan. We might catch a Ducks game this year. Depends right now though.

I actually would like to meet some folks.

As Satchmo said, he and Senator were going to go to a Red Sox game with me this past summer, but family obligations got in the way.

I know I'm going to be back in Dallas at the end of July for the Red Sox/Rangers series. Anybody and everybody is welcome to join me.

Oh yeah. I forgot that Steve and Joe are on this board (don't see them too often here - just at .400).

I met some others at the party too but don't remember their screen names.

Nope, haven't met you GrantDawg, at least not directly, but we were probably in the same stadium once or twice. Probably when Tech beat UGA 21-19 in Athens a few years ago.

Thankfully I wasn't in attendance for this past years thrashing/stomping/crushing/demolishing/(insert any appropriate adjective to describe a 51-7 destruction of a football (sic) team you can think of).

FishFan has sent $40 to my PayPal account for two separate gambling debts. TRO sent me an Amazon gift certificate to settle a wager. Fritz mailed me brownies once. And I hashed out a FOBL trade over the phone with Double A. Finally, Simms called me on 9-11 to make sure I was ok...

If I have any extra, Kodos is up first since I offerred to him first, but you're next. How flexible is your wife (or do you intend to surprise her?) Remember, I AM dealing with the most fickle population on the planet: high school kids. Because of that, I usually don't close sign-ups until the bus leaves. That being said, if I have 5+ tickets remaining by mid-May, I have no problem with trying to avoid a financial loss by unloading a few tickets. If you can stay flexible, your chances will increase.

Why don't we just play it by ear as far as the tickets go. If they're available and I'm free that weekend, then sign me up. If not, no big deal.

As an obsessed Cubs fan who's gone to only 1 game his entire life, if you guys have any extras let me know. Being available should be no problem for me.

Keep me informed.

Hey SkyDog. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to decline. I am drowning in work right now, and will probably have to go in on Saturday.

Have a good time at the Cubs game, and maybe one of the other guys can take the ticket? Revrew maybe? Anyhow, thanks for the offer.

Nequa,

Well, first off, I'd feel a little bad saying yes immediately, because revrew was "next on the list," and a near-tragic situation came to a head last night that increases my ticket availability to two, rather than one.

Last night around 11pm, I got a phone call from the step-father of one of the girls going on the trip. His voice was breaking up, and he informed me that Vanessa was not going to be able to go on the trip because her mom (who has had cancer), had taken a turn for the worse and had to be rushed to the emergency room. The doctors have said there's little/nothing they can do, and they're not expecting her to live through the week. I asked if I could speak to Vanessa, and he said she wasn't able to talk to anyone yet (I could hear her crying in the background.) This situation just sucks even more, because her father died a few years back as well.

All of that being said, I'm trying to compress my day so that I can get downtown to the hospital before I leave town, so I won't be around here much today. If all goes according to plan, I'll be in Chicago by around 9am tomorrow. (The game is at three. We're heading to the Sears Tower and to do some stuff down by the lake beforehand.) Call me on my mobile phone (770-289-2591) in the morning, and I'm guessing I can get your name and just leave tickets for you. REVREW, if you see this and want the tickets, post in this thread by 4pm today and e-mail me, so both Neuqua and I will know you're using them. Neuqua, if you don't see a post in the thread by then, assume you're in, and call me in the morning. Revrew, if you're using them, do as I said, and call me in the morning as well.

All who are so inclined, please pray for Vanessa. She's the gal in the orange-ish jacket below. This is an awfully heavy load for a 15-year-old girl who just finished her freshman year in high school.
