2-point conversions
Since it wasn't on Jim's list and I keep seeing it:
Teams go for 2-point conversions in situations where it rarely makes sense. The most common case (and I see it regularly) is when one team has the following scoring drives right off the bat: Field Goal Field Goal Touchdown 2-point conversion attempt So at 12-0 after the touchdown they go for 2. This then leads to a cascade of 2-point conversions thanks to the weird score. I can see the above situation happening late in the game, but in the first half being up 13-0 is fine.

A lot of teams do that IRL, to make it an "even" (2td+xp) 14pt lead.

Really? In the first half? I've seen them do it late, but in the first half everyone I've seen takes the extra point for a 13-0 lead. It's a timing thing; the computer AI seems to say "if I'm up by 12, go for 2" without considering the situation.
