View Poll Results: Employed or Unemployed?
After much speculation, we want you back as our GM. We ran into too many injuries to key players. Next year it's either Super Bowl or unemployment. 21 52.50%

Would you fire me 2?

Ok, 7 straight playoff appearances and zero Super Bowl appearances. You decide what happens!

My resume:
2002-2008
(79-33) 0.705 winning pct.
7 straight playoff appearances (3-7) record
Won division 6 out of 7 years and 6 in a row counting this year.

Division final 5x
Conference final 1x
Wild Card Round 1x

This poll is in two parts (if fired), one day each:

Part 1

Thanks,

Todd

Realistically it'd depend on how the games went, and how far into the playoffs you got.

If you got beat in the wild card game, or divisional game every year then probably. Some get a stigma of not being able to win the big game, and eventually you have to fire them because fans lose interest when they don't think they can win it all.

K that's enough for Being a fantasy owner 101.

I'd can your ass, you can't win the big one. I'm not interested in excuses, I want results ... and that means a ring.

That's the kind of blunt truth I need.

I would KILL for Mariucci to have that kind of record with the Lions in the next seven years.

I voted "no." And honestly, your job wouldn't be in any danger if I was owner. That should have been a third option.

It's nothing personal MizzouRah, I think the work you've done in the community is great and we're proud of your accomplishments, we just feel it's in the best interest of the organization to go in another direction at this time.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing, but I am glad I'm getting both sides of the fence here. I honestly though in today's sports, it would be lopsided for firing me, yes I'm surprised!

It sounds like in your heart you want to move on, so move on.

As a Saints fan, I can say that if we had a GM who won 7 out of ten games over a period of 7 years, we would probably name the city after him. Getting to the playoffs in the NFL means something.

I just fired the coach last year (against my feelings). Although the new coach did well in his first year, especially with all the injuries we had.

Actually, I don't like moving on unless I win a Super Bowl, but I wondered if, in the real world, I would be canned after 7 playoff appearances and no Super Bowls to show for it. The thought of starting fresh with a new team, spikes some interest from me, so I thought I would leave it up to the FOFC members. Dallas has never been to a playoff, that challenge definitely interests me... and I can't stand Dallas.

I voted to fire you because if I were the owner you wouldn't even have the job in the first place.

EDIT: School and then six hours of work is not good on the brain.

If you had the best team in the league than I would probably fire you, but if it was a really bad team, I wouldn't

Should be another decent year. Nabbed the best RB in the draft, but lost the league's best QB last year, Chad Pennington.

Won the division for the 7th time in a row.

One thing I don't get. I have a Coach with an injury avoidance rating of very good, but every year I get a ton of injuries. Bad luck? maybe... I have 5 guys out for the season, now how I am supposed to make a run to the Super Bowl with luck like this?

I'm a little deeper this year and have a much better defense, switching to a 4-3 this year. My backup QB was 10-2 when starting this year. Now he's hurt, my starter is almost 100%, but hasn't played well in the few games he's played in.

Argggghhhh! ... but I love this game.

I've played FOF4 more in the last month more than any other game. For those of you who don't have it, you might be missing out.(?)
