Whoever invented that voice phone automated system should be skinned

I mean really. What were they thinking? It takes 10 times as long to get through than just pushing a digit, and usually never works right. I just end up hitting 0 when the system stops behaving. I was with my wife tonight, and listened to her CLEARLY speak into the phone, only to have the system say "like duh can't recognize hehe ERROR"

My favorite is when you're in surroundings that aren't completely silent. Therefore, any noise in the background will cause a selection to be made. Of course, 99% of the time it's the wrong one and you need to start from scratch. It's a real time saver!

The thing that bugs me the most is the systems that require you to enter all sorts of information (phone number, account number, birthdate, social security number, etc.) and when you finally get a live person, they ask for all the same information again. It really is baffling to me why anyone would design a system like that.

Yes, and then if you get transfererred to a new rep, often times they require you to confirm again.
