Will there be a 2006 FOF update
I see rumors on the board here...curious if they're just rumors or if FOF will be getting an update soon?

The simple answer is that no one, other than Solecismic, knows. And he is not saying until he has a gold game to present.
My personal belief is that a new football game is coming this fall. Not sure whether it will be professional or college, though. Last edited by Swaggs : 06-24-2006 at 03:21 PM. |

Furthermore, I suspect the new football game will be structured similarly to the NFL, but without real NFL players, if it is a professional game. If it is a college game, the teams and conferences will be similar to NCAA Division I, but may have some discrepencies. |

Hibernation
I just wish the designer wouldn't go into hibernation every couple of years. It's like Bobby Fischer. I'd love to see him crank something out every year. FOF is a great design and at this point, the one pro football sim that seems solid. I've tried so many others and always end up being disappointed that I decided to come back looking here. Was going to pay for 2004 but certainly don't want to if there's going to be a new one soon.

Personally, I'm expecting Jim's next game to be a WW2 first person shooter.

As I've stated before, I took that approach with TCY. Three years ago.

I'd buy it anyways, you'll have enough fun with it until the next version comes out. You'll get your value out of it. I've probably played fof2k4 at least an average of a 4 hours a week since it came out, if not more. I go in phases where i'll barely touch it for a few weeks, and then one weekend I'll play like 10 hours in a day(along with doing other stuff). It's easily the most time i've ever put into a video game, and it still feels fresh. |

Or a text based WW2 first person shooter.
