Favorite PS2 games so far?

Since we are now midway through the PS2's cycle, what have been your favorite games?

My favorites have been, in no real order:

Ratchet and Clank
Hot Shots Golf 3
Silent Hill 2
Madden 2003
NCAA Football 2003
TimeSplitters 2
GTA3

Popular games that I didn't like, or never got into:

GT3
MGS2

What's Ratchet and Clank?

my favorites:

Madden 2003
GTA3/GTA Vice City
GT3
NBA Street
High Heat 2002

Those are the only PS2 games that have held my attention for a signifigant period of time.

GTA3 Definitely...

Others of note:

Madden 2003
Metal Gear Solid 2 (perhaps the best game ever made...seriously)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4
Final Fantasy IX

I'm still waiting for a good baseball game...All Star Baseball 2002 (I think) was ok, but had a few flaws. The new set of games seems to have some promise, but I'll hold off for now.

R&C is a platformer that really shines. It is very well done, and very fun. I am not a platform gamer at all, but this game is too good to pass up.

Best games I own:

SSX Tricky (best PS2 game IMO)
GTA3 and Vice City
Sega Sports' NBA, NCAA hoops and NFL games
SOCOM
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance
Frequency
Rez
The Sims (excellent PC port that takes advantage of the PS2)
Knockout Kings 2002
Contra Shattered Soldier

Highly-rated games I could never get into:

Gran Turismo 3
Sega Soccer Slam
Ghost Recon (well, not that highly rated; the PS2 version is horrid)
All of this year's EA Sports games ('cept NCAA football)
Silent Hill and games like it
Unreal Tournament (bad port)
Jedi Starfighter
Tony Hawk Series

Bizarre/Sleeper/Budget Games that are fun:

Gitaroo Man
Parappa the Rappa
Stretch Panic
Shrek Super Party
Rez
Escape from Monkee Island

Most Over-Hyped Accessory:

The PS2 network adapter

Have come "this" close but never purchased or played:

Devil May Cry
Metal Gear Solid
Max Payne

Next Trip to Best Buy:

Def Jam Vendetta

Hey, I take my PS2 gaming seriously. Hmm...looks like R&C may be one to get.

Oh, all-time "What is all the fuss about" game: Final Fantasy.

Then I guess you're stuck with Super Mario Sunshine instead of Ratchet and Clank. Poor guy!

No Medal of Honor??? Where's the love!

Besides MoH, I'd include

NCAA Football 2003
Red Faction
GTA:VC

I found the bouncy gun in MoH to be irritating. Good game, but I like TS2 better.

Dark Cloud 2 easily tops the list...
NCAA and Madden are quite a ways behind...

And that's about it, I don't go for the console games too much I guess.
