What a terrible accident... it definitely wasn't this man's time to go.

R.I.P. Doctor.

Without really intending offense to MylesKnight, I thought that the folks who believed in the "time to go" concept would by definition say that is was indeed his time to go, and that's why he went. It always seems like a tautological argument, when I hear it.

I agree with what you're saying QS, I was just speaking of the manner in which Dr. Atkins' Life was claimed.

Indeed it was his "time to go" from a factual standpoint..

If it was indeed his time to go, at least he didn't go by way of heart attack.

My clever dig on 400 Studios go completely un-acknowledged.

I thought it was one of my few funny moments around here.

Screw you all!

If it makes you feel any better, I thought it was funny, but didn't get around to reading it until just now.

Speaking of Atkins, I had intended to post an update thread about the diet within the next month or two.

I've been on the diet since last November, although really not 100% until January. So far, I have lost 39 pounds. I am hoping to lose another 20, but we'll see. I plan to get a complete physical soon to find out what my cholesterol looks like, etc. I'll post the results when I get them.

It was supposedly (I don't know) a heart condition he's had for quite a while and not linked to diet. But who knows.

No, I didn't. My previous physical condition was "fat." Now I'm "less fat."

Seriously, I have no clue what my cholesterol was before, so I really don't have anything to compare it with, which is unfortunate. Even if it is in the "acceptable" range, that doesn't mean it wasn't lower before. But, I will at least know it hasn't gotten to an unacceptable level. And after 6-8 months, you'd thinnk it would get pretty high if it was really bad for me.

I am following it "strictly," if by that you mean limiting my intake of carbs. I eat carbs, just not a lot. Ironically, I was at somewhat of a plateau at around 215 pounds, but then the wife and I went to Melting Pot for Valentine's Day. I gained 4 pounds that day, got so sick from eating so many carbs that I ate one meal over the weekend, and just started losing weight like crazy. I went from 216 on February 15 to 193 today.

I went to the Melting Pot once too. Lost a whole bunch of weight. Right out the back end. What did they melt in that dessert, Exlax?
Yeesh, was I sick.

I love that place. I didn't get "sick," it was just so many carbs at once that it shocked my body and I wasn't hungry for a bout 36 hours.
