Been playing games with my old teams to get back in the swing of the game, fun! :D

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 07:50 PM

SirFoz,

Hell's Hedgehogs are ready to go.

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 07:56 PM

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 08:02 PM

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 08:05 PM

How do I accept?

edit

NM, i see the invite now.

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 08:10 PM

got that one too.

if anyone has an extra team and wants a game, let me know ;)

KWhit 02-24-2006 08:49 PM

I submitted my team for review - the Singing Simpletons.

Is there any way to play a practise game or two before we get started?

KWhit 02-24-2006 08:51 PM

Foz - I'd like to play a game. Do I need to set up another non-league team for that?

I would like to as well. Do we just create another team and not join our league?

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 08:57 PM

Exactly.. They can be Ranked or Unranked, I have some beat up Ranked Norse, and i can create a unranked team if need be

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 08:58 PM

got the Simpletons an invite

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:04 PM

I'm setting up an unranked orc team now. Just about finished.

Care for a game?

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:05 PM

And what is the "Submit for Review" thing?

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 09:09 PM

KWhit: There's a group that reviews teams to make sure they're not joke teams or have inappropriate names for players

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:13 PM

Looks like both my teams have been reviewed. That was fast. Care for a game? I have no real idea how it works yet (but I have read the rules).

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:13 PM

And I installed the client, but don't know how to work it yet.

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 09:22 PM

Is Bonegavel going to play you KWhit..

Oh feel free to IM Me aif you have any questions

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:25 PM

I don't know. I haven't heard from him.

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 09:27 PM

Ok.. I'l,l set up a game with my humans as soon as they are approved

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:30 PM

Ok. Cool. Do I need anything other than the client program and the JRE? I think I read somebody say something about IRC.

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 09:34 PM

That's where folks can arrange games.. but if all you want to play are games against FOFC Members, you don't need it.

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 09:36 PM

i'm here if anyone wants to play.

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 09:39 PM

Ok, decide who will be the server and who will be the client. I'll let you two play since my Zagnuts are still not approved yet.

The following steps are the same for both of you:

1: On the main overview screen for you: Click PLAY next to the team you want to use.

That will open a window.. one of you should choose a proxy name and enter it where it says Proxy game name, and LAUNCH AS SERVER, After that, the other person should enter the EXACT Same Proxy Game name (I would suggest FOFC for ease of use), and LAUNCH AS CLIENT

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:45 PM

OK.

I'm be the server I guess.

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:46 PM

Ok. I used FOFC (uppercase if it matters)

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 09:48 PM

k

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:48 PM

You there, BG?

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:48 PM

Guess so.

:)

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 09:49 PM

ah, i installed the latest patch 8.5 you are at 8.3

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:49 PM

Ok. Hold on...

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 09:51 PM

k, i'll use one of the approved guys

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:51 PM

Ready. Try again.

KWhit 02-24-2006 09:53 PM

Ok. I guess we're ready.

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 10:01 PM

Watching you guys play now, maybe my hoomies can play the winner ;)

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 10:09 PM

Here's a hint guys: have a player next to your troll before you try to do an action with him. Trolls are really stupid, they'll just sit there unless they roll a 4+ when you select him, but you get to add 2 to the roll, if there's a player next to him (basically, he tells the troll what to do)

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 10:16 PM

you can see us?

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 10:23 PM

yup, I'm watching.

I'm Spectator #1.

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 10:26 PM

Like my Go For it Blunder?

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 10:32 PM

almost better then what would have happened if he had stayed there.

if you hit somebody and they have no square on the field they can go to, they are knocked into the crowd.

Now the crowd loves souvenirs, and will basically tear your player apart to get the best souvenirs. To reflect that, if a player is knocked into the crowd, you roll an INJURY roll straight away (not even bothering with the armor roll)

I wondered why we always missed our stupid rolls.

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 10:40 PM

hehehehe. Gobbo go splat! I was hoping he would get cas'd/

(BTW The Goblin's ability makes him fragile.. you add 1 to all injury rolls)

Just so you have a quick reference of what the injury table is)

2-7: Stunned (will spend an extra turn face down)
8-9: Knocked Out
10-12 Casualty (Roll a d6)

1-3 Badly Hurt, miss the rest of the game
4-5 Seriously Injured: Out for the rest of the game + the next
6 DEAD DEAD DEAD!

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 10:41 PM

Oh! I notice you're not standing up your players.. to stand up a player who's not stunned (one slash instead of the X).. select the player and choose a move action.. they will automatically stand up (Costing 3 Points of MA), but you don't need to roll a dodge or whatever.

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 10:53 PM

i have no idea what i'm doing, but I can see this will be lots of fun once i "get it."

I finally figured that out. Duh!

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 11:08 PM

Congrats to both coaches on a great game. Now, what questions do you want to ask?

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 11:09 PM

BTW, for those of you who didn't watch, The Torrid Torchers defeated Hell's Hedgehogs 2-0.

SirFozzie 02-24-2006 11:09 PM

BTW, that DQ's Hell's Hedgehogs cuz this tournament is supposed to start with TR100 teams, no big deal tho ;)

Bonegavel 02-24-2006 11:10 PM

that was fun.

KWhit 02-24-2006 11:10 PM

That was a lot of fun. I think by the end I finally understood the basics, but the defensive strategy is tough.

I can see myself giving up a lot of pass TDs against seasoned vets.
