why havent we recieved a great college basketball game.

Why haven�t gamers received a great college basketball game? Is the question I am trying to answer and with the time I spent thinking about this topic something became very clear, I know the exact reason why there hasn�t been and we will continue to be a great college basketball experience. The two reasons that I have came up with is, you can not catch the essence of what is college basketball in a video game and people can�t connect with the players and it�s a year to year thing.

You can�t catch the essence of a college basketball in a video game mainly because that atmosphere is so unique, two halves, 40 minutes of intense college action is a hard concept to portray. See a lot of colleges play a 1-2-1-1 zone all the way down the court, pressure is always on the ball and in college there is a five second closely guarded call which would kill the NBA game if that was in that game. NBA is a lot about one on one and the isolation game.

While college is more of a team based basketball game and zone defenses which doesn�t lead to a lot of fun in video games, pass and more passing as the 35 second clock dwindles down until you get a good shot most of the time a three which is a two even in recreational basketball so you see teams with a majority of there shots being three pointers. Going back to the 1-2-1-1 full court defense, this on games is a lot more difficult to deal with due to animation limitations which sometimes makes the game unplayable especially when your opponent does it constantly it sucks the life out of the game and causes you to lose interest in the game.

I think a college basketball is not a good idea of a game the main reason people watch college basketball is for March Madness and you cant capture that on a video game watching the mid majors battle for spots to get in the big dance to all the buzzer beaters and the crowds on the court you cant capture that on a game and that�s what people want to experience and if you cant give that then the idea of a college game will not work.

Also, you can�t connect to the players in college it�s a year to year thing. One year your team can be on top of the world the next year your all star player is gone to the NBA. Since they put the rule in that you have to go to college for one year has helped and hurt the college game it a totally toss up. Yes you will not get to see the Kobe�s and the Lebron�s for at least one year at Duke or at North Carolina but you better watch him play this year or he is gone to the NBA.

At least in college football you got three years to know your average player before he goes pro but in college basketball it�s one and go for the people you want to go see in the game. It�s almost getting to the point where college players would go oversees and play a year then throw there name in the draft then to be force to go to college and risk there careers and not get paid for something that they can get paid for but that�s another story. But without consistence fans can not have too much interest and players because it�s a year to year game unlike anything else. College basketball games have no place in the video game industry just like college baseball games.

everybory one think that CH2K8 was the truth. But its not it's aweful camera system is too high up for it's broadcast cam and in general their player models look like Michael J fox's teenwolf team.
