that would be ideal (having smarter ai for higher diff. levels) but that would also mean that 2k would have to program different ai for each diff. level or dumb down the ai for lower difficulty levels, either way someone is gonna be complaining that the ai isnt doing something that they think the ai should be doing in certain situations, lose lose for 2k imo.

I think 2k would be fine with leaving the ratings (true to all diff. levels) and only having the CPU timing be faster, HUM timing be shorter the higher you go up in difficulty.

That would produce core gameplay amongst all levels, while also providing the user a harder experience as they would have to master the releases, timing for steals, etc etc.

I have played almost every NBA videogame that came afterwards and I have seen them evolve, year after year, into what are todays standards. We have had a great and enjoyable journy indeed. Overally speaking, each upcomming version, despite of brandname, has been better than its past one.
