Five Questions with Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia

Instead of asking the same old tired questions to athletes (see: what does it feel like to be on the cover of a game?), I like to ask questions that are truly hard-hitting -- and then judge them in a completely arbitrary way so I can feel superior to people making much more money than me. I am just living the dream folks.

So here are five questions with Dustin Pedroia:

Operation Sports: Which flavor of sunflower seeds is the best?

Dustin Pedroia: Barbecue.

OS: Correct. Everyone loves barbecue. Everyone. What was the better console, the Sega Genesis or the Super Nintendo?

Pedroia: Super Nintendo.

OS: Incorrect. The correct answer is actually Sega Genesis because sports games were always better on the Genesis. Out of curiosity, did you have either growing up?

Pedroia: Yep, a Super Nintendo -- no chance, no chance Genesis is better.

OS: Does SCE Studios San Diego have an East-Coast bias?

Pedroia: No.

OS: Incorrect, the studio definitely does. You're the cover athlete this year—

Pedroia: Ryan Howard last year, David Ortiz, David Wright.

OS: What is the better baseball movie, The Sandlot or Major League?

Pedroia: Oh man...Major League.

OS: Push. I would say The Sandlot because I was a kid when that movie came out, but both are quality flicks. Which first name is cooler, Barack or Jacoby?

Pedroia: Barack's a cool name? When did that come about? *laughs* I'm going to have to go with Jacoby.

OS: Incorrect, it was actually a trick question. The correct answer is Daisuke. Thanks for playing Dustin.

For those keeping score at home, Dustin got 2 out of 5 correct. For shame Dustin, for shame.

pretty funny. I agree, I enjoyed Major League more than Sandlot. That being said, I'm 28 and still enjoy watching the Sandlot!

The Sandlot was great, but nothing compares to Major League. That's one of those movies that, no matter how many times I have seen it, if I am flipping through the channels and I run across it I absolutely have to watch it.

Nice interview. Nice job avoiding the "what is it like being a cover athlete" question.

And yes, Daisuke is an awesome name.

all that you did was ask questions. Why did he get them wrong then. Its his opinion!
