Hey guys, it’s Robby from Two Brothers Gaming again here with some more NBA 2K16 My Team Throwback Thursday card reviews! Every week in NBA 2K16’s My Team mode, there are Throwback Thursday cards released with specific players’ highlight seasons. Each week here on Operation Sports, I’ll be highlighting these players and showing you stats, badges, individual attributes, and everything related to each player. If you pull one of these cards, you’ll know what to do with them! Don’t forget to watch the accompanying video review as well.
Let’s get into it:
2014 Goran Dragic, Phoenix Suns
Dragic’s 2014 season solidified him as more than just a serviceable point guard in the NBA—the duel point guard backcourt in a high-tempo offense allowed him to shine and take the skills he learned from another great Suns guard (Steve Nash) and put them to work. For the year, Dragic averaged 20 points and 6 assists per game on 50% shooting from the field and 40% from the three point line. This kind of efficiency on offense leads to an 84 overall rating, one that I dive deeper into on the video. I like Dragic and think he’s usable, but not elite.
2012 Jarret Jack, New Orleans Hornets
Jack has found a niche in the NBA as a scorer, and this is what he can do for you in the earlier RTTP seeds. For the 2012 season, he averaged 15 points per game, which is a career high, to go along with 6 assists on 45% shooting from the field. His shot selection is sometimes questionable, but overall a 79 rating on the card helps Jack have a place in the game. Being a high-rated silver instead of a low-rated gold player has its benefits!
2011 Elton Brand, Philadelphia 76ers
This week’s theme was players who stepped their games up mid-career, and Brand has led a nice career with the final peak coming with the 76ers. Brand averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per night in a starting role for a team that made the playoffs with a 41-41 record. Brand is a player that is good at hitting the mid range jumper, but not a traditional stretch 4 of the modern NBA. I believe he’ll get lost in the shuffle, but those that enjoy the post game and a slower pace will find him usable.
