As a service to our loyal DSM Readers I am going to run through the process of starting a dynasty quickly so you know what to expect as far as customization and such. There is some good mixed with the bad and I'll provide my impressions for it all.

Step 1 Pick a team

Nothing really to report here.  You select your team and you get some basic info such as head coach, cap room, etc.

Step 2 Dynasty Setup

Dynasty Type: Dynasty Mode or Season
Schedule Type: NBA or Random
Sim Quarter Length: 2-12 minutes
Playoff Length: Several options to choose from
Simulation Intervention: On or Off
Simulation Injuries: Yes or No
Simulation Special Events: Yes or No
Fantasy Draft: Yes or No
2007 NBA Draft: Yes or No
2007 NBA Draft Order: 2007 Draft or Random
Hire Staff: Manual or Automatic
Team Event Scheduling: Manual or Automatic
Scouting: Manual or Automaic
Roster Management: Manual or Automaic

Step 3 Hiring Staff

It is at this point you are met with the main interface for Dynasty Mode.  On the top is a weekly calendar which will show what games or tasks you have to do for the week.  On the right is your next game, team leaders, and league information.  You also have a news box in the bottom center which can have various stories throughout the year in it.

In this step itself (hiring staff), you simply hire staff members based off a number of factors.  This is just like any other EASports game here where you have a budget for staff hires and each staff member has a specialty.  You have to hire an Assistant, Scout, Trainer and Assistant Head Coach.

Step 4 Training Camp

This is a simplified process where you simply assign what your assistant will be focusing on during the camp.  The options are offense, defense, athleticism.

Step 5 Begin Season

Yeah that's right, you then start playing your season.  Simple eh?
