MLB 15 The Show: Diamond Dynasty Ratings Boost Predictions (7/12/15)

We're wrapping up another week in the Diamond Dynasty universe, and it's potentially a big week for the mode. The Sony San Diego development team has promised a major ratings shake up around the All-Star break, and so folks are assuming that means the big update will come this week rather than next (the All-Star packs being released over the weekend are a good sign as well).

We're going to jump in on that assumption and change up how the predictions work this week. We'll break down each position into tiers based on where players are rated right now, and then from there we'll simply mention whether we think certain players deserve to go up or down in ratings.

Carlos Correa's offense needs an upgrade and his arm strength should be at least 88 maybe more.

The Phegley was an error on my part I've fixed (looked at my notes again and had him reversed), I agree with you on him!

Albert Pujols should be on his way up also

What about JP Howell and his 0.35 ERA? Should he not be at least a silver?

Lorenzo Cain deserves a big upgrade, I watch him every night an it's unbelievable that he's still a silver.

Wade Davis should be a diamond in my opinion. He has pitched 39 innings and his ERA is 0.43 currently and he gave up only his second earned run today thanks to Alex Rios being unable to field properly.

An interesting fact on Davis, his ERA would be 0.00 if Alex Rios had fielded a fly ball correctly today and if the replay umpires hadn't blown a call against the Cardinals earlier in the season (which the league later apologised for).

Thought about it. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets a boost, but I have trouble boosting a specialist whose xFIP is so much out of line with his ERA.

Thanks for the post dude. Very helpful. JD Martinez will go to Gold. Think Prince Fielder might get a boost, maybe into the 90's. Maybe it won't happen, but I also really believe Harper needs a boost for his batting and power vs. Lefties. His slugging percentage is off the charts! He leads everyone by almost .100. I agree Goldschmidt should be a 99 also. Posey might get a boost. Machado will probably turn Diamond since he is on the verge already. I'm not sure I agree with the Kimbrel downgrade, but I guess it could happen. I'd rather him get a boost so I can sell him! Last, but not least I think Cruz will get some love.

Has there been an update? I don't see any changes.

the changes were sano and mclullers in and betances moved to reliever Joba to closer even though he is a free agent so I dont know why and Roark was moved to starting pitcher but he was just passed over for a start so that doesnt really make sense either. Those were the only changes to anyone over 75.

True, but since no games will start until after the weekly cutoff date, not much difference between today and next Monday. Just as an oberservation, I dont think the guys who went diamond were not featured in packs over that weekend? Harvey may have been but that was that 35k pack that weekend.

Do you think Bryce Harper will finally be moved to RF soon? It drives me crazy they still have him listed as LF

Yes. I think they generally take a long time to make position changes (exceptions do apply) unlike with SP to RP changes, but I bet it would happen in the major update.
