Four weeks into the 2015 Diamond Dynasty season, and the prices for star players have started to skyrocket. The costs of lesser-known athletes with low overall ratings, conversely, have become incredibly cheap. Here are a few hidden gems who can fill key roles on your team for a wallet-friendly price.
 

Outfielders

Corey Dickerson, RF/LF/CF (Colorado Rockies)
Price = 300 stubs

Though his fielding attributes are mostly mediocre, Corey Dickerson's contact (90) and power (72) ratings versus right-handed pitchers are almost identical to Adrian Beltre's (93 contact, 72 power), who is incredibly overpriced at 35,000 stubs. Get Dickerson instead and start hammering opposing righties.

Jarrod Dyson, RF/LF/CF (Kansas City Royals)
Price = 30 stubs

Getting on base without resorting to bunting (93 drag bunt) can be difficult for Dyson, since his contact ratings are only 72 and 54. But once he gets to first base, he'll easily steal second and third with 99 speed, 99 stealing, and 99 baserunning aggressiveness. 84 fielding and 92 reaction ratings let him cover lots of ground in the outfield, though you'll want to send most of his throws to a cutoff man, with just 48 arm strength and 49 arm accuracy.

Eric Young Jr. LF/CF/RF/2B (Atlanta Braves)
Price = 30 stubs

Young Jr.'s attribute ratings are almost identical to Dyson's; the only real differences are that Young Jr. can play second base, where he excels at keeping grounders from getting through the infield gaps, and Young Jr. has three cold zones on each side of the plate, whereas Dyson has four cold zones against lefties and two cold zones against righties.

Rajai Davis CF/LF/RF (Detroit Tigers)
Price = 350 stubs

For just three hundred more stubs, you can get a slightly slower (97 speed), but much better hitting version of Young Jr./Dyson in your outfield, as Davis comes to the plate with zero cold zones and 94 contact against lefties. I recommend having all three speedsters on your team, starting Davis at center field, and keeping Young Jr./Dyson on your bench to be late-game substitutes if you need a pinch runner or you just want to protect a lead with better defenders.

Mark Trumbo RF/LF/1B (Arizona Diamondbacks)
Price = 30 stubs

Don't get suckered into paying 7,000 stubs for Jose Bautista's 71 contact and 96 power against lefties when you can get Trumbo's 59 contact and 92 power for just 30 stubs. Trumbo does come with one extra cold spot in the bottom corner of the plate, but at such a discounted price, it's no big deal. Although Trumbo has 79 arm strength, you might want to play him at first base since he's fairly slow (49 speed) and has only mid-50s fielding ratings.

Infielders

Pedro Alvarez 1B/3B (Pittsburgh Pirates)
Cost = 15 stubs

With Trumbo set as your big bat against lefties, Alvarez will be your team's best slugger against righties, boasting an 87 power rating. Pedro can even make some nice plays at third base, with 72 fielding and 73 arm strength.

Billy Butler 1B (Oakland Athletics)
Price = 15 stubs

Alvarez and Trumbo each possess plenty of power, but neither guy is a reliable contact hitter. Butler carries a 90 clutch rating, plus he brings 89 contact and 70 power to the plate against lefties, making him a smart pinch hitting option if you're not in a situation where you need to swing for the fences. You probably don't want Billy in the field full time, though, since his defensive ratings are all in the 40s and 50s.

Chris Johnson 3B/1B (Atlanta Braves)
Price = 30 Stubs

With a 94 clutch rating, 98 contact, and only one cold zone versus lefties, Johnson can definitely drive in runs if you place him in the middle of your order. His 73 arm strength and 66 arm accuracy are also above-average.

Scooter Gennett 2B (Milwaukee Brewers)
Price = 200 stubs

Scooter's 72 fielding and 73 reaction ratings are respectable, and his 95 contact against righties is excellent, but he will have to work around three cold zones at the plate, and he's stuck playing second base since he doesn't have any secondary positions.

Willie Bloomquist SS/1B/2B/3B/LF/RF (Seattle Mariners)
Price = 3 stubs

With 87 contact and only one cold zone against lefties, Bloomquist is a solid offensive shortstop. His speed and defensive ratings are all in the 50s and 60s, though, so don't expect any spectacular plays from him in the field.

Brandon Crawford SS (San Francisco Giants)
Price = 40 stubs

If you prefer having a shortstop who specializes in defense, then Crawford can dominate the infield with 91 arm strength, 81 arm accuracy, and 93 fielding. He isn't terrible at hitting, either, with just three cold zones, low-60s contact, and low-40s power.

Catchers

Wilin Rosario 1B/C (Colorado Rockies)
Price = 3 stubs

Joe Mauer 1B/C (Minnesota Twins)
Price = 600 stubs

You won't find any inexpensive catchers with high hitting stats in Diamond Dynasty, so instead, you'll want to look for players like Rosario and Mauer who have catcher as a secondary position. Mauer gives you great contact against righties (92), while Rosario brings both power (78) and contact (79) against lefties. It's worth keeping both players on your 13-man roster, so that you'll always have a dangerous hitter at catcher instead of conceding a free out to your opponent.
