All-Pro Customization

In recent years, games have been moving more towards making the experience customizable.  Some sports games do this by face mapping such as Tiger Woods 08. Titles like All-Pro Football 2K8 take a different and all together more meaningful approach.  That approach is formatting itself to you the player.

The approach taken with All-Pro takes something as easy as selecting players but adds a whole new level of strategy.  By basing your team around a select number of star players, ranging from Randall Cunningham to Barry Sanders, you’re given the ability to make a team perfectly tailored to your style of play.

Take my team for instance.  For my team, I selected Dan Marino and Earl Campbell as my gold star players with only a silver star Herman Moore as my other offensive star.  This allows me to use the running game with a power back to make up for a lack of any real strength on my offensive line.  I also gain a backup plan with a passing threat.

The rest of my team is all defense, however, and that makes up for my issues with playing defense.  I have a star player at every position but strong safety and as a result, my team can adapt to most any offensive situation it comes up against.

But say offense is more to your liking and you feel confident in the control on the defensive side of the ball.  That’s easy enough to remedy by taking almost entirely offensive stars and gives that one two punch a whole new meaning.
