The Individual Sports Game of the Year category includes games which the focus of the sport is on an individual moreso than a team. While your an make arguments that NASCAR could be considered a team sport, or how the WWE isn't really about a sport -- all games that focus on individual action go in this category.

This year, the competition in this category was actually quite good, as there were several really good titles to choose from. Top Spin 4 was the best game no one played, Fight Night Champion had our most innovative feature of the year (Champion Mode), you had excellent outings from both DiRT 3 and WWE '12 as well.

But the crown was always Forza Motorsport 4's to lose. The game is so overwhelmingly awesome that despite great efforts from other developers, there really wasn't any question as to who was going to win this category.

Forza is a sim-racing/driving simulator that basically allows you to drive real cars, tune them, tweak them, paint them, basically do whatever you want to cars which you wish you could owned but never really could afford. People play Forza to collect cars, to express their creative side, some people just play to get the fastest cars possible.

The online community around the game is unmatched in our genre, with people who are just as passionate about their digital cars taking them online and racing them/showing them off. And we haven't even gotten into the simple fact that the game is absolutely gorgeous.

Simply put, if you own a 360 and do not own Forza -- you have committed a grave console owners injustice.

Jayson Young - You will not find a more-complete sports game this year than Forza Motorsport 4. Its graphics and lighting are stunning, the career mode is huge and varied, each car is super-detailed and infinitely customizable. Whether you're strictly a solo gamer or the social type who likes to compete and share with friends, you could play Forza 4 until the next version comes out and never run out of things to do.

You know a sports game is amazing when the only real complaint you can come up with is the developer's affinity for bad techo soundtracks.
