Forza Motorsport 4 comes on two discs, totaling 10.6 gigabytes. Turn 10 Studios has crammed so much content into the game that it's almost overwhelming at first sight.

Career

The career mode in Forza 4 can be played in two different ways: World Tour and Event List.

World Tour challenges players to win 10 seasons worth of events against "adaptive" AI racers. The game automatically adjusts the AI difficulty to match your racing skills as you progress through the World Tour, making each event a fierce battle. World Tour takes the player through about 150 events, including standard races, multiple heats, 1 vs. 1 challenges and unusual minigames like "Car Bowling."

Amazingly, completing Forza's 4 World Tour only exposes you to half of the game's 290 total events. The other half can be selected at any time using the Event List. 

Unlike World Tour, the Event List uses standard difficulty settings such as "easy," "medium," "hard," etc., so if you get stuck at any point in World Tour, simply load the Event List and pick one of the easier challenges to keep earning cash and experience points.

Rivals

Rivals mode offers a unique collection of events like drift contests and drag racing, which aren't available in career mode. Each rival race puts you on the track against a single "ghost racer." If you can beat the ghost's time, you're awarded a "bounty" of cash and experience points. Bounties increase in value as you beat faster "ghosts" who are higher on the leaderboards.

Whether you're content to challenge your friends' times, or want to take on the top leaderboard players, Forza 4's Rivals feature is one of the game's most addicting new modes.

Autovista

If you want a break from all the racing, the new Autovista mode acts as a sort of car showroom, where you can pop open trunks, hoods and doors to get an inside view of 24 of the game's vehicles. 
 

Jeremy Clarkson, host of the BBC show, Top Gear, narrates the mode, offering commentary on the vehicles' histories and features. Each of the 24 cars in Autovista mode must be unlocked by completing a challenge, such as knocking down a course of bowling pins with the H1 Hummer.

Online

Up to 16 players can now compete online in Forza 4, doubling the limit of previous Forza games. Since most online opponents race more like Ricky Bobby than Bobby Labonte, you'll probably want to start a "Car Club" amongst your friends. Club members can share cars, so if one of your friend's unlocked a bunch of good cars, he can share them with clubmates who haven't spent as near as much time with the game.

There are 27 locations to choose from online, each with multiple "short track," "long track" and "mirror tack" varieties. Minigames like the hilarious Car Soccer mode keep the online experience just as diverse as Forza 4's offline game.

Final Thoughts

It's been rumored that the next Forza game is planned to debut on Microsoft's new system, so if racing fans have to wait that long, Forza Motorsport 4offers enough options to keep racing years into the future.
