My best players still available in rounds 4-7 in the 2013 NFL Draft.

  • QB’s – This has been unlike any other draft in term of QB’s getting drafted. Many people had Syracuse’s Ryan Nassib going in the 1st round to the Bills, and USC QB Matt Barkley going in the 2nd. Another QB I am surprised to see up there is Arkansas Tyler Wilson. At this point if you need a QB, just take the highest of these guys.
  • RB’s – I was surprised to see the Steelers take Le’Veon Bell in the 2nd round yesterday, but he does have some interesting tape. I thought guys like Andre Ellington out of Clemson, Jonathan Franklin from UCLA, and OK St.’s Joseph Randle would have been drafted before Bell. The most interesting to me is who will draft South Carolina’s Marcus Lattimore? His recovery is reportedly rapid, and he was a top prospect before his injury.
  • WR’s - One of my favorite guys to watch is still waiting for the phone to ring, and that’s Da’Rick Rodgers who started his college days at Tennessee, but had failed drug tests and finished his college days at Tenn. Tech. There is also Louisiana Tech’s Quinton Patton who was a great leader in college.
  • TE’s – Michigan St’s Dion Sims is pretty good value here late, and I think someone will take the very athletic Chris Kragg from Arkansas. Colorado’s Nick Kasa has great size, but some question his commitment to football. Also UCLA’s Joseph Fauria had a nice college career.
  • OT’s – Virginia’s Oday Aboushi/LA Tech’s Jordan Mills/San Jose St’s David Queesenberry, and Xavier Nixon from Florida should all hear their names called today. Some nice players here still.
  • OG’s – I was stunned to see the Lions able to pick up Kentucky’s Larry Warford, early in the 3rd, and there is still some decent value left with another Arkansas prospect in Alvin Bailey, and Quessenberry mentioned earlier could be a OG. Utah’s Sam Brenner could be a 6th or 7th round prospect.
  • C’s – One of the most surprising picks to me so far was Dallas taking Travis Frederick from Wisconsin with the 18th overall, when they had so many other better players to choose from. I think Alabama’s Barret Jones who is still waiting, would have been a better choice later in the draft. USC’s Khalid Holmes was highly regarded, but dropped as his SR. season progressed.
  • DT’s – The biggest surprise to me is seeing Alabama’s Jesse Williams still on the board, but medicals have to be in play here. I expect Georgia’s Kwame Geathers to go early today, as well as Josh Boyd from Miss. St. This position still has some good players.
  • DE’s – I am really purplexed that Texas prospect Alex Okafor is still hanging around. I think that South Carolina’s Devin Taylor who had a great offseason is an interesting prospect, and an under the radar player who I liked is Quanterus Smith from Western Kentucky. Look out for this kid. This could also be the day for guys like Illinois Michael Buchanan/Joe Kruger from Utah/Georgia’s Cornellius Washington.
  • OLB’s – The fact that Rutgers Khaseem Greene hasn’t had his name called should tell you how weird this draft has been. He is such a steal at this point, someone just take him. Stanford’s Chase Thomas is also good value here for a team, as well as Howard’s Keith Pough.
  • ILB’s – There is one prospect who I thought would be taken before Kiko Alonso, and that’s N.C. LB Kevin Reddick, but he is still around. For this late I think Alabama’s Nico Johnson has decent value, and possibly Florida St. LB Vince Williams.
  • CB’s – I would take Oregon St. prospect Jordan Poyer here with no hesitation. I also like William & Mary’s B.W. Webb here as good value, same with Illinois Terry Hawthorne.
  • S - There are 2 interesting prospects here I would like this late and those are Bacarri Rambo from Georgia who is growing on me, and then there is Fresno’s Phillip Thomas who I think is another steal at this position in the draft.
This NFL Draft has left us with plenty of talent left over to take advantage of, but the question is who will see it???
