2013 NFL Mock Draft

This is my very 1st mock draft ever! I am drafting without trades, and the selection process was simply giving the team what they needed based on how I see it. So here is how I would draft the 1st round tomorrow!

1. Kansas City Chiefs – (OT) Eric Fisher – Central Michigan

This pick is really just because Fisher has a beard and Joeckel doesn’t #BeardGang

2. Jacksonville Jaguars – (OLB) Dion Jordan – Oregon

Did somebody say “LEO”?

3. Oakland Raiders – (DT) Star Lotuleilei – Utah

For me, Star or Sharrif here.

4. Philadelphia Eagles – (OT) Luke Joeckel – Texas A&M

The Eagles go BPA and Joeckel is a no brainer.

5. Detroit Lions – (OT) Lane Johnson – Oklahoma

The Lions have built that team through the draft, and continue to do so here.

6. Cleveland Browns – (DB) Dee Milliner – Alabama

I can see the Browns taking their top QB here, but I think Milliner is the right

choice.

7. Arizona Cardinals – (OT) DJ Fluker – Alabama

Put him at RT and let him destroy the opposition.

8. Buffalo Bills – (WR) DeAndre Hopkins – Clemson

Hopkins is my #1 WR, but everyone says go with Nassib. I say if you don’t

get it done with Kolb, then next year try to land the #1 QB

9. NY Jets – (OLB) Barkevious Mingo – LSU

We didn’t really see Keke let off the leash at LSU, but when we did he was

awesome.

10. Tennessee Titans – (OG) Jonathan Cooper -UNC

This one could go either way with Cooper or Warmack. Must haves though.

11. San Diego Chargers – (OG) Chance Warmack – Alabama

Simply put, protect Rivers and you will be OK.

12. Miami Dolphins – (CB) – Jamar Taylor – Boise St.

Taylor has a bright future, and Miami would be wise to make sure it’s with

them.

13. NY Jets – (QB) Geno Smith – West Virginia

Geno is my #1 QB, and we know that the Jets are in need.

14. Carolina Panthers – (DT) Sharrif Floyd – Florida

Sharrif or Star, not a bad decision the Panthers could make.

15. New Orleans Saints – (OLB) Jarvis Jones – Georgia

The Saints need a difference maker on defense, Jarvis did plenty of that in

College.

16. St. Louis Rams – (WR) Tavon Austin – West Virginia

The Rams get the “Pocket Rocket” to help Bradford and co. in hopes to

compete in the NFC West

17. Pittsburgh Steelers – (ILB) Arthur Brown Jr. – Kansas St.

I had 3 different players here, but I think Brown is the right fit.

18. Dallas Cowboys – (DE) Tank Carradine – FSU

Medical concerns aside, Dallas would have to be silly not to take Tank here.

19. New York Giants – (OLB) – Ezekiel Ansah (BYU)

JPP and Ansah really?

20. Chicago Bears – (OLB) Alec Ogletree – (Georgia)

Ogletree doesn’t get past the Bears.

21. Cincinnati Bengals – (S) Jonathan Cyprien – FIU

This is another either or situation with all the safeties still on the board, but I

like Cyprien a tad more.

22. St. Louis Rams – (S) Eric Reid – LSU

The Rams get a physical hitter, who could earn a starting position before

opening day.

23. Minnesota Vikings – (WR) Keenan Allen – CAL

I like Keenan Allen’s game, and would look at the tape instead of the

medicals.

24. Indianapolis Colts – (OG) Larry Warford – Kentucky

The Colts should be investing in Luck’s health as much as possible.

25. Minnesota Vikings – (DT) Sheldon Richardson – Missouri

The Vikings get a much-needed defensive interior presence.

26. Green Bay Packers – (DE) Datone Jones – UCLA

This may be a surprise to some, but not to others.

27. Houston Texans – (WR) Cordarrelle Patterson – Tennessee

Cordarrelle is a project, but his potential is waiting to be tapped.

28. Denver Broncos – (CB) Xavier Rhodes – Florida St.

Rhodes has a wealth of knowledge at his fingertips in being teammates with

Champ Bailey.

29. New England Patriots – (CB) D.J. Hayden – Houston

Pats fans, you’re welcome.

30. Atlanta Falcons - (TE) Tyler Eifert – Notre Dame

The Falcons hope to groom Eifert during the final season of future HOF’er

Tony Gonzalez.

31. San Francisco 49ers – (DT) Jesse Williams – Alabama

This is almost guaranteed to happen.

32. Baltimore Ravens – (DE) Bjorn Werner – Florida St.

The reigning champs get the ever falling Werner, who earlier this year was mocked top 10.

This is one of my favorite times of the year, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. Did I give your team the right player? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
