Bowl Nerd presents the Meineke Car Care Bowl: UNC vs. Pitt

I was pretty excited to play as Pitt. Their freshman RB Dion Lewis is a certified stud. I think Bill Stull also puts up decent numbers, but I am fairly okay at the passing game, especially compared to my running skills. I get excited when I get to control a highly-skilled runner.

The result, of course, was less than compelling. Somehow I managed to score 30 points, but gave up 51 to North Carolina! I know Butch Davis has that team on the rise, but I don't get the impression they're an offensive juggernaut.

Of course, the result of the first game had me thinking maybe I was going to have some unexpected fun as North Carolina, but they played under my control a lot more like I'd expected them to when I opposed them, falling to Pitt, 48-14.

Lewis was only about 20 times more-unstoppable when I was chasing him than when I was controlling him.

The real bowl, of course, was not nearly as full of offense. What a shame. Still, both sides played well. Keep an eye on Lewis if you don't know about him already. He's going to be a treat.
