I like the new rosters.
I also like when I win one game and lose the other. It's not that I like losing, but it makes me feel like there is some balance to the game settings and that I'm neither good nor bad enough at the game to make the ratings and all that irrelevant.
So, you can take from the above that we had a distinct winner in the Poinsettia bowl and that winner is Cal.
And, that counts for little in the real world since Cal absolutely self-destructed in San Diego last week.
As Utah, I definitely felt like I was holding the offense back a bit. The real-life Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn was definitely better than his cyber-counterpart in my control. Also couldn't get the run game running, so it was a struggle to a 27-17 loss, which seemed like it could have been much worse.
When I took over as Cal, I definitely knew it should have been worse, especially since I was able to pile up 47 points to get by the Utes, 47-33.
I did play with Jahvid Best, despite the fact I knew he was injured and out for the season. I just couldn't bring myself to sit one of the top RBs in the country the one time I'm likely to be using the Golden Bears. Between him and backup Shane Vereen, it was fairly easy to run the ball on Utah.
Additionally, Kevin Riley had plenty of time to throw to any of a number of capable targets. From playing as both teams, I'd have said Cal was simply too much for Utah to handle, but, just as we saw last season when they beat Alabama, Utah is simply more than what many give them credit for being. Great team.
