Bowl Nerd presents the New Orleans Bowl: Middle Tennessee vs. Southern Mississippi

The funny thing in this pair of games was that I managed to score 21 points with each team against the opposing defense.

Unfortunately, I surrendered 31 to Middle Tennessee and 35 to Southern Mississippi.

While USM Damion Fletcher is a pretty decent back with which to run, the MTSU offense, on the whole, is a lot more fun to operate. Dwight Dasher is a very mobile QB and can cause a lot of damage. Also, I really like getting the ball to Desmond Gee and letting him run wild.

I was at the 2006 Motor City Bowl to see the Central MichiganChippewas take on the MTSU Blue Raiders. While CMU pretty much handled the Raiders, the one player who gave fits was Gee. He just seemed a whole lot faster than everyone else on the field. Admittedly, I probably tried a little too hard to get the ball to him, hindering me from maybe running the MTSU offense to its full effect.

Trust me, though. Take that offense out for a spin. You'll like the ride. So far, this was my favorite team with which to play, even though Rutgers remains the only team with which I've actually won a game.
