Bowl Nerd presents the New Mexico Bowl: Fresno State vs. Wyoming

My first game of the series featured two teams I've not seen play all year and, hence, had no idea what to expect.

Actually, I take that back. I saw part of a Fresno game at some point and was very aware they had a killer running back by the name of Ryan Matthews.

Unfortunately for them and me, I'm awful at the run game and was mostly unable to exploit that when controlling the Bulldogs.

Wyoming 31, Fresno State 24 (OT)

Now, I have to say that I'd not really played much really ever since I got the game the week it was released. It seemed my rust and lack of overall skill was really keeping a superior football team from being able to do much against the Cowboys.

When I flipped sides, I was a little shocked at how difficult it seemed to do much with the Cowboys!

Fresno State 59, Wyoming 7

As we all know by now, the game actually much more like my initial result. The Cowboys did prevail in overtime and did it by a seven-point margin. The difference was, really, that Fresno made some key mistakes in the actual bowl game that opened the door for a very game Wyoming team to hang and eventually complete the task.

My loss was pure incompetence. The talent disparity of the rosters on NCAA 10 was fairly apparent.
