I love football. I really, really love football, you know?
College football is a blast. I enjoy playing the game to the point where I don't really notice the blemishes on which so many people focus.
I use my DVR to record games and then click through them like game tape using the 30-second skip function, so I can squeeze in three to four games in the time it would normally take to watch one.
For whatever reason, however, I never really thought to marry my love for the NCAA football game with the product on the television.
Until now.
A few weeks ago, I decided I would play each and every bowl game on this year's schedule...twice!
Of course, what I'm doing is playing once as each participant in the game. What I'm getting from this is an ability to learn a little about the players (if only their names) before watching the games themselves.
This does create a little bit of a time issue, since playing the games takes a few hours and I'm wanting to put off watching the bowl games themselves until after I've managed to play the games.
It's such a brilliantly nerdy idea, I can't believe I'd not thought of it until this year!
Check back and see how the games roll and compare them to the real-life results. Better yet, get your rosters updated and sliders adjusted, and get to working on your own bowl season nerdism!
Peace!
