BOSTON- In what was most assuredly a statement game that the Boston Celtics are to be taken seriously the Denver Nuggets were the sacrificial lambs on this night. Boston took a commanding 15-3 lead to open the game and never looked back en route to a complete dismantling of a Western Conference playoff team. Gordon Hayward poured in 21 through 3 quarters in this laugher while Kyrie Irving added 19 and Marcus Morris notched a double-double going for 16 and 12. Boston held the visiting Nuggets to a paltry 33% from the field and solidified their spot as the best defensive team in the NBA giving up only 73. Denver, on a night sorely lacking any production, was led by Paul Millsap with 13 points and 6 boards. Boston ran its winning streak to 11 and welcome the visiting Jazz on Friday before hitting the road for a pair.
