Who Should your team Draft?
Posted on March 24, 2010 at 09:33 PM.
The NFL Draft is creeping up and there are more than enough NFL analyst with mock draft to get a good sense of what players will be drafted in the first round and by whom, question is, who do we want, or who do we think would help us.

My rules: Clearly I am not in a position that allows me to select who my team draft, but if I was I would use the following rules:
1. Never draft a RB, WR, FB, or TE in the 1st round...the bad strongly outweighs the good and and these position are a dime a dozen.
2. 1st round picks should be immediate impact players and be players that could have long careers.
3. A QB can't help you if your o-line and receivers suck...hope the Rams are listening
4. D lineman are big risk v. big reward...make sure you have studied this player to a t
5. O lineman are the safest and efficient picks...they usually play for 10 years, just make sure he fits your system...Why hello Robert Gallery.
6. CB are better to draft than a FS or SS, because if they aren't as good in coverage you can always try them at safety
7. LBs never live up to their draft status because that's a position where you have to watch tape to see how well he actually is playing but LBs are second to O lineman as far as being a safe and efficient.
8. DT can anchor a defense, but don't expect a lot in the first few years

My Pick: Denver being my team, If we were drafting a defensive player, I would go with someone in the secondary, Joe Haden, or Eric Berry, we have a bunch of old timers in the secondary and we need some youth, hopefully McBath will start next year, I hope Alphonso Smith improves and take over at nickle cornerback, and I Expect Dawkins to retire after next season, so Berry would make sense. We did release our starting ILB Davis, so Mcclain wouldn't be bad either, any of these guys would improve our d. Offense is a big question mark because nothing has been done with Brandon Marshall and if we keep him that eliminates a need for a WR, we need a Center, but there aren't any that are projected very high so, I think we draft a OT and makes some moves within our line and see if there is a solid center available in later rounds and free agency. Okung probably wont be available, but maybe Anthony Davis

As a raiders fan, I know we need a QB. We might get Donavan though, and I would risk losing out on drafting a QB this year, unless we don't get him. Also need another WR. I would Trade Chaz, And Darrius Haywood Bay. One more D- line man can get us over to a top 10 defense as well.

I respect you guys as a divison Rival. Only team I can't stand is the Chargers.

I hate the Chargers as well, as far as Oakland getting Donovan, its possible, but he is in his last year of his contract, so he could be one and done for you guys, its a risk well worth it though.
