Last year, I guess we saw Procedural Awareness where in order to make a play on the ball the defender or receiver had to be able to see the ball, but we all know this only happened some of the time and guys still are able to deflect passes with out even seeing the ball. It worked pretty good showing player expressions and players did track the ball most of the time, so no foul there. What bugs me is that this feature is mostly visual based rather than for game play, it has no big on the effect on the game. In the NFL seeing the ball is key, Play Action, Wildcat, Pump Fake, any Misdirection play is based off how well you are able to trick the opponent.
So with that said, how about implementing Procedural Awareness a bit more and have players react different situations.

Example: A ball is slightly overthrown, one of two things happen, receiver either stops or tries to make a play on the ball diving for it, and based based on his SPEC CTH rating he may be able get it, BUT PLEASE MADDEN, NO SPEED BURST ANIMATION .

Example:After the catch is made, the receiver is usually home free, and able to get up field, well in real Football, defenders are able to knock the ball loose at the last minute of possession, this is where most Corners prove their worth with their ability to make a play on the ball.

I could provide more examples, but this blog is already too long, and I appreciate any who reads, and I'm like to hear others share their thoughts as well, so feel free to comment.
