The past two weeks I've been playing Madden Ive started to tweak the game settings. I would go to practice and just run pays for a good half an hour, then see why the things happen in Madden that happen. I started at normal speed, the speed threshold at 0 and tuned the player and CPU sliders. The game showed a lot of problems that we all know and hate, so no need to go in depth. Where I saw improvements in the game was when I put the game on slow speed not very slow, but slow. The animations were smoother, you felt like you were more in control of what was happening on field, and I felt like the rating took more effect in the game, especially QB accuracy and throwing power, I noticed that with my slightly above average QB Kyle Orton I was overthrowing more passes, under throwing more passes, The O line was blocking better and the D wasn't always stuffing the pass. With CPU's reaction time tuned down a little, the D wasn't always able to make a play on the ball, especially LBs down field which added more realism and fun. With the speed threshold at 65 O lineman were able to get up field and block accordingly, Draw plays started being more successful and everything looked more like real football. The game by no means was great after these changes, QB still releases the ball out of his hand before his arm motions forward, O line will still miss blocks(but much less), still hard to sack the QB without diving at him and the DB seem to have a speed burst. But the game played very good tuned to a T.
