Expand Player Traits: Madden 12 has set the foundation to make future Maddens great. The features in Madden 12 were finally worthwhile, but they all felt like they were done half-heartedly. We got 75 man rosters, but no practice squad, Online Franchise was soo basic, I never bothered with Madden Ultimate Team, or Superstar Mode, so I won't comment on that. Then there was Dynamic Player Performance, which from my experience, was very inconsistent, left me wondering what was the criteria for going on a Hot/Cold streak for the non-skill positions. One feature I was intrigued by was Player Traits, of course none of the traits really showed significance on the field. Tuck and Run may be the trait that held the most significance, But most of the traits were geared toward CPU, and simulated games.
I titled this Expand Player Traits, but as I'm writing this I'm thinking they should scrap Player Traits, keep the idea of it, but come back with Player Tendencies. That would make more sense, right? It pains me to see Elvis Doomerville(92 OVR) use a long swim move animation to the wrong side, running into a Center or Guard, eliminating any type of containment on a Pitch or Power to his side, or Von Miller(87 OVR) doing the same spin move every time, actually the spin move is very effective lol, but to my point, great NFL pass rushers, use a variety of moves to get to the QB, Tom Brady doesn't always throw spirals. No player does the same exact moves. Also, can the OLine get some love? not every line man blocks the same way, some guys cut defenders, some guys move their feet and leverage, and some guys rely on sheer strength. No two players are the same, skill or technique, I think Player Tendencies would be pretty cool, how about you?
