So why can't I just start a career already?

Got Head Coach 09 in the two pack...got tired of Madden rather fast, put Coach in.

Started a quick Career and got my *** quickly removed, shined up real good, gift wrapped and handed back to me.

It was clear I had stumbled into a wonderfully deep game with a childlike cluelessness about it as a whole. I love football and have decent working knowledge of how it's played but not enough for this game.

So I went back to school.

I've used the brain trust of the OS forums as a guide, I've scouted players and playbooks in numberous Coach Now format games. I have a draft plan. A thourgh working knowledge of what I hope to build with the Bears through philosophy and personnel changes.

And I still haven't tried a career again.

True, I have a limited amount of time to put into it currently but that comes off as such a excuse.

I'm beginning to think I'm afraid that if I start that career and get my *** ripped off once more that I'm a failure as a fan of football and this game. Pretty stupid, huh?

Personally i never really got into the in depth head coach role as i prefered things like Franchise or Superstar (RTTS is my favourite mode in MLB 09) although i can respect where people are coming from with these games. In regards to this problem, all you can do is try. If you dont than that game will gather dust. You'll be left pondering whether you are good enough for the game. A game should never control your decisions, thats why you have the controller.

Hope that helped in some way

I can understand your apprehension. Every time I start a new career I am on pins and needles watching my approval and can feel my shoulders relax when I see that "Doing OK". But hey...it is a game (at least that is what I tell myself until I get home and start researching my next draft). But when it doesnt work out...quit...start over...and learn from your mistakes. If I had kept a list of the failures I have had in this game...oh man...that would take hours to write!!

I await hearing of your successes...and failures...that is what makes this game so great.

Just start it and see how it goes. If you lose keep on trying till you win

Naw...I almost started one then I went on vacation. Now I'm back and am trying to catch back up at work. I just keep pussin' out cause of the time commitment now, I'm lame.
