Finally...a "facebook" for sports gamers only!
I guess I'll start by introducing myself: I'm a 31 year old male teaching and coaching in south central Wisconsin. I'm in my 9th year of teaching high school mathematics; my load this year consists of geometry, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus. I am also beginning my 5th year of coaching JV boys basketball on the 17th. I did 1 year of 7th grade boys, and then 3 years of freshmen boys before moving to JV. I really enjoy the JV level, but am looking forward to the opportunity soon of moving up and taking over a varsity program.
As for gaming, I've kind of run the gamut of systems. I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer, but I've enjoyed owning a console since I was 10. In order: the NES, Super NES, PlayStation, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, XBox, XBox 360, and the Wii. I've also had a Gameboy Advance SP and now two Nintento DSs. Currently, my wife and I just have the 2 DSs, the 360 and Wii.
I wasn't too sure about the Wii at first, but it's really found a niche in my gaming stable. It is there for our quick, pick up and play games where the emphasis is more on having a good time, and quickly. I've come to find out that we own more games for the Wii (8) than the 360 (5). The 360 just fills my sports fix: APF 2k8 and CH 2k8 are the main ones.
That being said, I'm really getting into College Hoops 2k8 again. I love everything about that game and am just finishing up Year 2 of my legacy with ND State.
On the Wii, GH: World Tour is getting the playtime right now. No band kit, just 2 guitars from GH3 with my wife and we're having a blast. When the drums get sold seperately, I'm set (I'm a drummer). I can't wait for the drums.
In non-gaming news, my wife and I just had our first child at the end of July, a healthy boy weighing in a 8 lbs. 15 oz. He's been great so far and turns 16 weeks today.

I think I may make this a weekly thing...post on Friday or something and review the week that has been. Thanks for the addition to this site!

Good to see teaching is going well for you and you're still coaching basketball. How have the teams fared over the years?

I'm .500 at the JV level with a record of 38-38. This year could be a little rough as my depth is a bit limited, but we'll make do. I LOVE this time of year!!
