Starting a Blog and Season for my 2018 Titans! Madden 2018, All-Pro, using Armour and Sword's excellent sliders with a few tweaks for my play style. I play Defensive Camera, no switch, typically a D-Lineman or LB. I control QB Offense, Passing, Run After Catch and Rushing. CPU Catch and no switching.

Here Goes

Titans start off the season 1-0 after a very impressive all-around team performance on the Road in Miami. After falling down by 7 early when Miami would march down the field to score opening the game; the Titans bounced back for a strong performance on both Offense and Defense. The team road Derrick Henry with 30 carries and 160+ yards on the Ground plus a TD. Midway through the 4th Quarter with the Dolphins closing in to score on a drive that would have made things interesting, Kenny Vacarro came up huge with a Pick in the Endzone of a Tannehill pass to save the day. The Titans would add 2 more field goals behind strong late game running from Henry to seal the victory.

The Tennessee Titans have defeated their Division Rival Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football in an important early season Division Game for both teams. The Titans came into this game in a must win situation if they are to have any chances of a solid season and think about the playoffs. Having gone 1-4 in their first 5 games they had to win this one. The Jaguars were in this game as the surprise early season division leaders at 4-1. With the victory the Titans improve to 2-4 and the Jags are now at 4-2. The game was played in wet and muddy conditions in Jacksonville under the Monday Night Lights.

Jacksonville would strike first in the game on the arm of David Garrard as he completed a 27 yard TD pass to Tight End Mercedes Lewis. Vince Young brought the Titans back down the field with a long drive of their own, and then added a 2nd score on a great pass to Nate Washington. The game was definitely Vince Youngs most solid performance of the year for Tennessee. He helped convert many critical 3rd downs in the game and the Titans had their best 3rd down showing of the year as well as won the time of possession battle.

The Jaguars would not go easy though, returning a fumble for a TD and adding a late game TD to tie things up with just a little time left on the clock. However, the Titans would not be denied and with 1:11 remaining Rob Bironas would convert the winning field goal and the Titans got out of Jacksonville with the win.

Coming off their first victory of the 2010 season at home against Denver, the Titans faced a tough assignment this week traveling to the Lone Star State to take on Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys at the new Texas Stadium in Arlington. Things started well for the Titans as they looked impressive driving the ball in their first two drives of the game, but having to settle for field goals as in the red zone the Cowboys Defense would hold tough. The Titans on their third drive were able to put it all together and Vince Young found fullback Ahmard Hall in the End Zone for a Touch Down. Here is a video of the pass as it was quite an impressive throw and catch for the Titans

The Titans would give up a field goal headed into half-time, but things looked promising. Boy, that would all change in the 3rd Quarter. Tony Romo came out of the locker room and led the Cowboys down the field for a long drive and their first Touchdown of the day, cutting the Titans lead down to 3. Once that happened the Titans begin to get away from their game plan slightly of pounding chris Johnson and Vince Young gave up an Interception which was returned 37 yards for a TD by Jay Ratliff. The Ratliff TD, would give the Cowboys their first lead and it would really force the Titans into a negative vibe and the team began trying too hard. Ratliff would have a 2nd Interception at the Line of Scrimmage later in the game on a Vince Young Deflected Ball, and the Cowboys used the 3 picks from Young as motivation to pull away.

The Cowboys were nearly unstoppable running the ball as Marion Barber and Felix Jones combined for almost 200 yards rushing together. A tough loss for the Titans which now sends them to 1-4 on the 2010 season and really "reeling" at this point.

Next week they will travel to Jacksonville to take on their Division Rival on Monday Night Football. Let's hope they show up and have a better effort as this will truly be a must win game to keep the chances of anything positive happening in the season alive.

Whew, finally! Was starting to wander if the Titans were going to win one of these things, it was starting to look like the 20090 season all over, with digging just too big of a hole. It may be tough to get out of still, but the first win over Denver is on the board, so we at least got that out of the way. Here are my obervations of the First 4 Games in a nutshell

1. Opener against Oakland -- we simply outplayed them, dominated the time of possession and after giving up 2 quick scores early really controlled the game. Oakland hit paydirt on a huge play with a minute left in the game and it was a heartbreaking way to start the season, especially at home.

2. Steelers Roll -- Wow, they just dominated us. An Old time rival came in and just kicked our tails. They had us on our heels from the blow of the first whistle and it just never really let up. At least we didn't give it away.

3. Giants Kick Four Field Goals and Beat us -- This one was tough and we were just too agressive in the game. Trying to blitz Eli Manning too much and he just beat us on it time and time again. We were able to keep them out of the endzone, and make the team settle for field goals. That was the only bright spot in a game that we just didn't plan well for.

4. A Win in the Rain and Mud at Home against Denver -- Felt great to get the first win. We have to score more points though. We did a great job bouncing back from three really difficult losses and getting that ever important first win. It won't be easy going to Dallas on the road next week, but let's see what we can do and if we can build on this.

Outlook on the next two opponents

We will face a very tough Dallas team on the Road, that is sure to put up points. We need to control the clock and run the ball. We then go to Jacksonville to play the surprise early seasson division leading Jags. Should be a great game, and it's on Monday Night!!!! Yeah Baby!
Finally! The Titans have won their first game of the 2010 NFL season after holding off Denver in a 16-10 victory this weekend at LP Field. The Titans simply had to win this one after an 0-3 start to begin the season, and they had a much better showing over the previous three outings to get the first win of the year. There is still a lot of improvement that needs to happen as the team simply is not scoring enough points, and Vince Young will need to be more consistent if the team is to overcome the tough beginning to the season.

This game featured 3 Field Goals by Rob Bironas and some nice drives by the Titans as well as a 55 Yard Touchdown pass strike from Vince Young to Kenny Britt. The Young to Britt combination early this year has been nice as they look to continue to build chemistry on the field each week. Chris Johnson added 75 Yards Rushing on 26 attempts and the Titans controlled the time of possession in this game much better than they did against the Giants and Steelers.

Next week it will not get any easier as they go for the 2nd win as they have to head to the Lone Star State to take on Jerry Jones and the NFC Favorite Dallas Cowboys. The Titans hope they get to see the stadium in Texas more than once this year, because if so that means they will have made it to the Super Bowl. But, right now the team needs to simply focus on one game at a time and try to build on the win over Denver.

The Tennessee Titans traveled to New York to play the NFC East Giants in Week 3 of the season. An odd game that saw only 1 combined Touchdown between the two teams, would end with New York kicking 4 field goals to win the game on the foot of Lawrence Tynes. The story of the game was a time of possession dominance from New York. The Titans would look strong early as they had a long sustained drive in the 2nd quarter capped off by a Chris Johnson TD run to grab the lead going into halftime.

The agressive blitz package approach that the Titans took would bite them in the end. Eli Manning picked it up continually and would pass for 330 Yards, on which Mario Manningham had 175 of those yards on 11 fabulous catches. The Titans knew it was an early season must win game, so they held strong in the Red Zone, never giving up a Touchdown, but the four field goals and control of the game clock by the Giants was enough for the home team to win.

The loss drops the Titans to 0-3 to start the season, and a very challenging start to overcome. Especially with 3 of the first 4 games coming at LP Field, a faster start would have been much better for them. The Titans hold the toughest schedule in the NFL this year and it won't get any easier next week as they return home to face the Denver Broncos.

This was a really challenging game for the Titans. Despite feeling good about their chances to keep the game to a smash mouth feel with lots of running and grinding, the Steelers had other plans. Ben Roethlisberger and the Steeler offense put the Titans on their heels early with lots of play action and sneaky running plays on the first drive to set the tone. The Tennessee defense from the get go was under the gun and seemed confused. Early in the 2nd Quarter the Steelers had established a 14 point lead with 2 solid drives, and then things got really ugly before halftime, with Turnovers leading to more points when Kenny Britt fumbled a Kick Off, and then later before halftime James Harrison returned an INT for a Touchdown.

After adjustments in the locker room the Titans settled down and in the 2nd half, held PIT scoreless, and put up 16 points of their own on two TD passes from Vince Young to Nate Washington and Chris Johnson. But the story of this game was -9 yards rushing for the Titans, and a brutal attack on both Off. and Def. From Pittsburgh. The game was not nearly as close as the final score looked.

The 2010 NFL season opener for the Tennessee Titans would bring a really dramatic and close game, with a heart breaking finish in Nashville, as the Titans would fall in defeat to the Oakland Raiders on a late TD pass from Jason Campbell to Darrius Heyward-Bey with 1:12 left in the 4th Quarter.

The Raiders started quickly in the game jumping out to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter as they would strike on a 14 yard TD pass from Campbell to Heyward-Bey, and then again on a short run for a TD by Michael Bush.

But the Titans would bounce back, forcing a safety in the 2nd Quarter and turning the momentum. The Safety would then lead to a nice drive by Tennessee capped off by a 5 yard TD pass from Vince Young to his Fullback A. Hall. Rob Bironas added a field goal to cut the lead to 14-12 at half time.

Tennessee would continue the momentum in the 3rd quarter with a TD Pass from Vince Young to Kenny Britt to put the Titans on top of the scoreboard. The Titans dominated time of possession and appeared to have the game in hand. However, playing conservative would kill them as in the late stages of the game, with time running out the Raiders would strike rich on the game winning TD pass of 65 yards as Cortland Finnegan was beat deep.

After the TD the Raiders were able to stop the Titans and complete the win!

Tennessee will look to bounce back next week against a tough Steelers team visiting LP Field.

Well here it goes, first time to ever try this, but I think it adds a whole new level of immersion to Madden, and sports games in general, so let's see if I can have some fun simulating my 2010 Tennessee Titans! A bit of background on my approach ...
  • Bill's Realism Coaching Mode Sliders ... with Madden 11 of Course
  • I am calling plays in Traditional Mode for the Titans OFF and DEF
  • 11 Minute Quarters, 15 sec run-off
  • Using Roster Update #2
  • Using default playbooks for the Titans Off and Def
I am a lifetime Oilers/Titans Fan, and love the team. I am pumped up for the Season and follow the team religiously win or lose. So, are we ready for some Football?

Oh, one more thing, I advanced Pre-Season in the Franchise, so starting from game #1 against the Oakland Raiders. My goal is to be competitive, hopefully see if we can be a wild-card team if everything goes well. I don't expect to win the division with Indy.

As far as my schedule for posting on this dynasty. Well, if I know "me" well enough it will probably be somewhat up and down. For instance, I played the game all freakin day today haha! But I get so busy that sometimes I go days or a week or two without being able to play. But I want to try to post as the season goes along and stuff -- so we'll just see ... hope you enjoy it.
