2010 Titans Drop to 1-4 after Defeat to Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys
Posted on September 6, 2010 at 12:02 PM.
Coming off their first victory of the 2010 season at home against Denver, the Titans faced a tough assignment this week traveling to the Lone Star State to take on Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys at the new Texas Stadium in Arlington. Things started well for the Titans as they looked impressive driving the ball in their first two drives of the game, but having to settle for field goals as in the red zone the Cowboys Defense would hold tough. The Titans on their third drive were able to put it all together and Vince Young found fullback Ahmard Hall in the End Zone for a Touch Down. Here is a video of the pass as it was quite an impressive throw and catch for the Titans

The Titans would give up a field goal headed into half-time, but things looked promising. Boy, that would all change in the 3rd Quarter. Tony Romo came out of the locker room and led the Cowboys down the field for a long drive and their first Touchdown of the day, cutting the Titans lead down to 3. Once that happened the Titans begin to get away from their game plan slightly of pounding chris Johnson and Vince Young gave up an Interception which was returned 37 yards for a TD by Jay Ratliff. The Ratliff TD, would give the Cowboys their first lead and it would really force the Titans into a negative vibe and the team began trying too hard. Ratliff would have a 2nd Interception at the Line of Scrimmage later in the game on a Vince Young Deflected Ball, and the Cowboys used the 3 picks from Young as motivation to pull away.

The Cowboys were nearly unstoppable running the ball as Marion Barber and Felix Jones combined for almost 200 yards rushing together. A tough loss for the Titans which now sends them to 1-4 on the 2010 season and really "reeling" at this point.

Next week they will travel to Jacksonville to take on their Division Rival on Monday Night Football. Let's hope they show up and have a better effort as this will truly be a must win game to keep the chances of anything positive happening in the season alive.
