New York Football Giants Kick 4 Field Goals to Beat Tennessee Titans in Week 3, 2010
Posted on September 5, 2010 at 07:07 PM.
The Tennessee Titans traveled to New York to play the NFC East Giants in Week 3 of the season. An odd game that saw only 1 combined Touchdown between the two teams, would end with New York kicking 4 field goals to win the game on the foot of Lawrence Tynes. The story of the game was a time of possession dominance from New York. The Titans would look strong early as they had a long sustained drive in the 2nd quarter capped off by a Chris Johnson TD run to grab the lead going into halftime.

The agressive blitz package approach that the Titans took would bite them in the end. Eli Manning picked it up continually and would pass for 330 Yards, on which Mario Manningham had 175 of those yards on 11 fabulous catches. The Titans knew it was an early season must win game, so they held strong in the Red Zone, never giving up a Touchdown, but the four field goals and control of the game clock by the Giants was enough for the home team to win.

The loss drops the Titans to 0-3 to start the season, and a very challenging start to overcome. Especially with 3 of the first 4 games coming at LP Field, a faster start would have been much better for them. The Titans hold the toughest schedule in the NFL this year and it won't get any easier next week as they return home to face the Denver Broncos.
