Nov 8th 2016 - Disappointing week, except for the beatdown of the Warriors.
Posted on February 3, 2016 at 02:24 AM.
The Aces had an overall disappointing week going 2-2. They lost on the first night of both their back to backs. Memphis and Jeff Hill took it to the Aces beating them 124-110. The next night the Aces showed a little grit by bouncing back to beat the Suns 126-110.

There were rumors of the team out on the town after that win. Which led to some second guessing when the Aces laid an egg on Friday night at home against the Rockets losing 114-108. Harmon in particular just seemed out of sorts fouling out with 10mins to go in the game. The coach was asked about the purported partying the night before, but he dismissed it and said just wait until tomorrow's game.

This reporter was a little skeptical after the showing Friday and the rumors of nights out on the town, that the Aces would put up a fight against the Warriors. However, I was happily proven wrong.

The Aces jumped out on the Warriors from the start and built a nice cushion. Then Cameron took over in the second bring the Warriors back to even. The third quarter was back and forth, with all the stars showing their talents. In the fourth Bethea and Harmon just took over and built a ten point lead with 2 minutes to go. Then down the stretch Jeffries hit some big free throws and the Aces pulled away to win 112-98.

Harmon had a season high with 42pts/4rebs. Bethea chipped in 34/2/2. Even Jeffries added some points this game going 22pts and 8assts. Martin added 10pts and 14 rebs. But then the weakness in the bench showed up again. The only other player to score was Eze with 4 points.
This led again to the questions of could the starters keep up this pace all year?

Next week the Aces get the Spurs on the road, with the Pistons and Nets at home. It will be interesting to see if the Aces can take the Warrior win and build on it, or keep up their uneven play.
