Augustin torches the Bobcats in fourth. Leads Mavs to a 117-101 win on the road.

This game played out much like the first matchup. In the first we jumped out to a 8 point lead on some nice shooting by Lawson (9pts 3/4 from 3). Then Irving decided that he was going to get into the action and not let us run away with it like last time. He showed his skills with jumpshots and drives to the tune of 11pts in the quarter and brought them to within two at the end of the first, 29-27.

The second quarter while Irving was resting was where our bench started to take over, specifically Augustin. He ended up with 10pts and 5 assts in the second quarter. Lawson continued his hot shooting with another 8 points and 2/2 from 3. Irving did return midway through the second and tried to take the game over with 9 pts to give him 20 at the half. We did have a little scare as Lavasai went down with an ankle injury that looked serious but ended up being minor. He went to the locker room for halftime, but was available in the second half. By the time it was all done we led 61-48 at half.

After half, Ray Ray decided to chip in as he hit jumper after jumper for 8 points in the quarter. And Shane Larkin started for the injured Lavasai and chipped in two 3s. Irving slowed down a little with only 6 points in the quarter. The lead stayed the same 13 going into the fourth, 85-72.

The fourth was where the show started. The Bobcats tried to make one more push and got within 6 at the 10 minute mark. Then Augustin decided to display all his skills and completely went off. He scored the last 18 points for the Mavs over the last 8 minutes of the game and led us to a 117-101 win on the road. He did it in a variety of ways, three pointers, driving layups, pull up jumpers, and even got to the line for a few free throws. It was fun to watch. Augustin ended up with 33pts/3rebs/6assts.

It was another great game as we took down the Bobcats again. The question was could we take this game and apply the momentum to the rest of the year? There was still a chance we could sneak into the playoffs, and if we did I had a feeling that we were not going to be the team anyone wanted to play.
