We were playing a little better post All-Star break with a 9-7 record going into our second game this year against the Bobcats. Sneaking into the playoffs were still a slim chance, as we were 3 games out of 8th with only 13 to play. This game was a chance for us to measure the team against the NBA elite and set ourselves up for a good finish to the year.

Game Notes
This was a rematch of opening night which the Mavericks won 108-96 on their home floor. This time the game was in Charlotte where the Bobcats were 31-5 on their home floor. The Bobcats were again leading the league in scoring with 115.9ppg. The Mavericks have been playing better post All-Star break with a slightly above .500 record of 9-7. The trade of Jase Lavasai has seemed to tighten up the point guard play and cut down on the turnovers. Tonight would be a tough matchup for Lavasai going against Kyrie Irving who was having another MVP type season. With the playoffs looking out of the picture for the Mavs this was another chance to measure themselves against the NBA elite. For the Bobcats it was a chance to makeup for a poor showing on opening night. NOTE: Holden sprained back in warmups and is questionable. Zeller will be taking over his PF spot.

Looking like a tough start for you in Dallas right now man! Maybe missing the playoffs this year wouldn't be all that bad. 1 more piece and you should be good to go I think
