Lo and behold the first game of the 2018-19 regular season is against the Charlotte Bobcats. The NBA was looking for a major storyline to promote the start of the season. Well they got one.

With the signing of Parker it amped up the rivalry even that much more. The guys knew how I was treated, heck the whole world knew. And they told me all week they wanted this one for me.

Game Notes
This was the three time NBA champions first game. Normally the champions get to start at home, but due to scheduling conflicts they had to go on road to Dallas. This game was full of story lines. Starting with the former GM of the Bobcats now running the Dallas Mavericks for his first full season. To the signing of Jabari Parker by the Dallas Mavericks. The Bobcats were not willing to match the max offer made by the Mavs, and the Bobcats were not happy about the offer in the first place. In addition the story of the Bobcats starting their quest to become the first team to win four straight titles since the run of the Celtics back in the 60s, and the Mavericks trying to reclaim their spot among the NBA elite. With everything said there is definitely no love lost between these two teams.
