I'm sitting at home a few days before the 2017-18 season starts and I get a phone call.

"Hello?"
"Hey it's Jordan. Got a few?"
"For the owner I can make a few. What's up? I hope you like the little moves we made in the offseason. I think we have a great chance at a three-peat. Our stars are just hitting their peaks and our bench is pretty strong again. I would like a little more depth in the backcourt, but we have that full exception we can use if needed."
"Yeah, that is sort of what I wanted to talk to you about."
"Ok"
"You accomplished what I brought you in to do and honestly what no one thought you could. Make the Bobcats a winner now and look good for the future."
"I appreciate the chance you gave me."
"I know the 4 year contract we agreed to is over and you were looking for an extension."
"I do feel like I deserve one."
"Well the thing is, my son Marcus is looking for a way to make his name. He wasn't able to cut it on the court and I want to give him a way to show me he has grown up. "
"I'm sure we could fit him in as an assistant GM or something. That way he can learn the ropes."
"That's the thing. I don't want him to be the assistant. I want him to be THE GM. So basically I'm saying you did what I asked of you, and now we are moving on."
"Umm..."
"I will make sure you get those original Air Jordans to replace the ones you had to sacrifice. And make sure you come out of this looking good. But it's time to move on."
"Are you serious? Or you just trying to yank my chain?"
"I know, I know. This is a little bit of a shocker. But my legacy is set and now I want my son to have a chance. And the work that you did puts our team in a great spot to do that. Nothing personal."
"Ok now I'm starting to think you are serious."
"As I have said before, 'Always turn a negative situation into a positive situation. Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, and others make it happen.'"
"Ok, now I'm totally confused."
"Let me make it simple, you're fired."

I have no idea what just happened except I just lost the job that I put my heart and soul in for the past 3 and a half years.
However, no sooner had I hung up the phone and put it on the counter, then it rings again. I was a little afraid to pick it up.

"Hello?"
"Hey, this is Mark Cuban. I hear you are out of a job?"
"How in the hell did you hear that?"
"C'Mon man I'm rich and tech savvy I know everything."
"Ok"
"I wanted to see if you might want to come and take over the Mavs?"
"Huh?"
"Yeah Donnie Nelson has reached the end of his tenure here. The last few years he has been going a little wild in running the roster. And the focus has been lost. He even let Dirk move onto another team for his last year before retirement. That was the last straw for me. I need someone to step in and clean up this mess and restore the franchise. I need you. I saw what you did with the Bobcats. Right now we are in worse shape than they were. You interested?"
"Man, I'm still trying to wrap my head around what just happened."
"I can give you a few days if you need."
"You know what, Hell no. I'm ready right now. Let's do this."
"Alright. I'll send my private jet to pick you up and we can start work tomorrow. How does 7.5mil/yr for 4 years sound? With an option for another 2 years at 10mil/yr if you win a championship?"
"You got yourself a deal on two conditions."
"Name it."
"I run the team. What moves I make I do without needing your approval. And two when we take down the Bobcats we blow up some original Air Jordans,that I own, in the plaza of American Airlines Center."
"Deal. Good to have you aboard."

Now that was a doozy of a night. Lost a job and got a new one in the span of 15minutes. I did get a 2.5mil raise as well. Now time to get back to work and make Jordan regret it.

Yeah I thought you would like that little twist and with your handle in it. lol
I had actually been planning it during the playoffs. Just wasn't sure what team I was going to take over. Then looked at the Mavs and they are a complete mess. And being my favorite team anyways, thought it was a great time. I wanted to do it before the offseason, but it only allows you to resign and take over another team during the regular season. I have already done some work on them. It will be in the next post maybe tonight or tomorrow.

Hahaha yeah man. Love the sneaky little mention lol. A big part of me knows exactly what your plan I'd. Cuz I was considering doing it with the Knicks. So will sit and wait and see if my intuition is correct lol
