Now after the year we had last year and all the moves that were made to change the identity of this team we had to have a good start or my last lame duck year on the job was going to be hell.
I can say the result has been more than I could have hoped for!!
At the All Star break we are first in the East with a 35-19 record. That is as many wins as we had total last year!
We have had some minor injuries. Irving went down the first week into the season for 2-4 weeks with a sprained wrist. The real scare was during the 28th game when Parker complained of sore knee, and it was determined to be a strained MCL on the same knee he tore last year. Luckily he was only out 2-4 weeks and missed 10 games. Mayo also went down right before the All Star break with a strained abdomen for 2-4 weeks. But overall, the injury madness that was last year hasn't hit yet. Knock on wood.
We ended up with two All Stars in Irving and Parker. And Holden is leading the ROTY award.
Much of the criticism that was leveled at me has so far been quiet. The team is playing great and the chemistry has been really good.
Here's hoping to it lasting and the Bobcats finally taking a step forward.
